Hello! Yesterday was my first day, it went really well and I felt very full but stayed on plan! However, I let myself get really hungry at bedtime (early dinner/not realizing I was so hungry around 10pm and just drinking an herbal tea) and I actually felt pretty awful all night and into the morning. As I ate my eggs in the morning I was feeling really nauseous and I have a pretty bad headache. Withdrawal from sugary carbs? I did have an E meal yesterday, but an apple was my main carb for that meal, an apple with a teensy bit of PB, grilled chicken over a salad with season salt and lime on top. Other than that I had S meals.
Sorry, I am committed to this and am not going to stop! I just wonder if this is normal or if anyone else has experienced this. SO grateful for a board where I can ask these questions! It helps me stay the course!!
Hi Katie! I hope you are feeling better. If you get hungry at night, feel free to have a fuel pull snack to satisfy you before bed. Are you still nursing? If so, you'll be more likely to need extra snacks. If you keep feeling nauseous and having headaches, you may want to include more E meals, maybe with some quinoa or oats, or Chana Dahl, since you have lots of that over in Dubai. You could also have some S Helpers, maybe 1/4 cup of grain with your S meal. Some people do experience these symptoms when beginning the plan, particularly with a lot of only S meals. But these symptoms go away as your body adjusts. Your commitment is great. After a while the plan will seem like second nature, and you'll really learn what works for you, and what you like the best too.
beachmommy: Does anyone have experience with the Hello Cheese recipe in the cookbook? I'm wondering if I can freeze it safely or not. Also, has anyone tried it using a homemade baking blend? Which recipe and how'd it go?

peacenjoy: Here's the recipe I use, and it's worked just like the THM baking blend for me: 1 C. oat fiber, 1/2 C. coconut flour, 1/3 C. golden flax meal, 3 Tb. almond flour, 3 Tb. powdered collagen, 1 Tb. Glucomannan powder.

peacenjoy: I found it online... there are several recipes of it's type there. Can't recall whose concoction this was.

reets737: Can dried egg whites be used with success in place of fresh in THM recipes?

stacylynn: reets, are the dried eggs whites simply whites...or do they have added ingredients?

monica7: Has anyone tried substituting xantham gum for gluccie or cream of tartar to keep the egg whites stiff in the oopsie roll recipe?

msjongg: Just wondering... Are rice noodles on plan?

queen: Probably a good idea to start a topic asking about it. Generally, I think they want you to use the whole grains rather than something made from brown rice flour, but maybe there's more to know about it.

queen: Got a notice that the THM website is having a big cyber-Monday sale and are offering a couple new items. They have also introduced flat rate shipping. Time to stock up on that Gentle Sweet.

mamaj123: what supplements are recommended on plan? I believe they talk about it in the original book, but I don't have mine right now

marmee: One question: if I have early morning coffee with coconut oil ( or if I choose cream) are they considered a snack, should I wait 3 hours before eating? If I eat an S meal soon there after am I ok? Would that be a problem if I eat an E meal soon after?

queen: You can post here if you like. But you can start a post by entering a forum (any of the linked titles above this shouting box). Once you are in the forum, you should see a "Create Thread" link in the title bar. Click that to get a posting screen.

queen: If you eat an S meal within an hour of your oil/cream coffee, it is all considered the same meal. Otherwise, you need to wait the 3 hours.
