Hello! Yesterday was my first day, it went really well and I felt very full but stayed on plan! However, I let myself get really hungry at bedtime (early dinner/not realizing I was so hungry around 10pm and just drinking an herbal tea) and I actually felt pretty awful all night and into the morning. As I ate my eggs in the morning I was feeling really nauseous and I have a pretty bad headache. Withdrawal from sugary carbs? I did have an E meal yesterday, but an apple was my main carb for that meal, an apple with a teensy bit of PB, grilled chicken over a salad with season salt and lime on top. Other than that I had S meals.
Sorry, I am committed to this and am not going to stop! I just wonder if this is normal or if anyone else has experienced this. SO grateful for a board where I can ask these questions! It helps me stay the course!!
Hi Katie! I hope you are feeling better. If you get hungry at night, feel free to have a fuel pull snack to satisfy you before bed. Are you still nursing? If so, you'll be more likely to need extra snacks. If you keep feeling nauseous and having headaches, you may want to include more E meals, maybe with some quinoa or oats, or Chana Dahl, since you have lots of that over in Dubai. You could also have some S Helpers, maybe 1/4 cup of grain with your S meal. Some people do experience these symptoms when beginning the plan, particularly with a lot of only S meals. But these symptoms go away as your body adjusts. Your commitment is great. After a while the plan will seem like second nature, and you'll really learn what works for you, and what you like the best too.

nakona62: Is it ok to have an S dessert right after an S meal, or when do you have your desserts?

stacylynn: linmom - I am sorry that this is so late, but for next time, try dipping your meat in mayo and "bread" it with nutritional yeast and spices. YUMMY! Chicken is especially taste-y prepared this way.

stacylynn: nakona - Sure! : I find if I eat my dessert directly after a meal, I don't want to graze. It works for me!

corleygrammy: Is it ok to have 100% natural, no preservatives, no added sugar, no fat corn tortillas on plan?
May 5, 2015 13:20:24 GMT -5
stacylynn: corleygrammy: I stay away from corn tortillas, because I associate corn with the fattening of cattle. There are some other low carb tortilla choices that would better suit weight loss. I often use Joseph's Pitas in place of tortillas. Best wishes!

steffanie3: You can use corn tortillas on occasion if you want to, there are sprouted ones that would be an even better option if you go that route. You could see how you do, I personally use low-carb options as well

steffanie3: sms, don't get overwhelmed Some new ladies prefer to stick to all S one day then E the next until they feel more comfortable, but you are free to jump in and switch back and forth as you menu plan as long as your meals/snacks are three-ish hours apart.

May 15, 2015 8:13:56 GMT -5
steffanie3: meemee if you use a full tbsp of Polaner it can be, you could add some more E fuel to it if you like and are struggling to get in Es
May 18, 2015 13:20:01 GMT -5
steffanie3: natcr3w, that works just fine for E You do want your sourdough to be whole grain to be on plan and your oats to be not instant.
