Hello! Yesterday was my first day, it went really well and I felt very full but stayed on plan! However, I let myself get really hungry at bedtime (early dinner/not realizing I was so hungry around 10pm and just drinking an herbal tea) and I actually felt pretty awful all night and into the morning. As I ate my eggs in the morning I was feeling really nauseous and I have a pretty bad headache. Withdrawal from sugary carbs? I did have an E meal yesterday, but an apple was my main carb for that meal, an apple with a teensy bit of PB, grilled chicken over a salad with season salt and lime on top. Other than that I had S meals.
Sorry, I am committed to this and am not going to stop! I just wonder if this is normal or if anyone else has experienced this. SO grateful for a board where I can ask these questions! It helps me stay the course!!
Hi Katie! I hope you are feeling better. If you get hungry at night, feel free to have a fuel pull snack to satisfy you before bed. Are you still nursing? If so, you'll be more likely to need extra snacks. If you keep feeling nauseous and having headaches, you may want to include more E meals, maybe with some quinoa or oats, or Chana Dahl, since you have lots of that over in Dubai. You could also have some S Helpers, maybe 1/4 cup of grain with your S meal. Some people do experience these symptoms when beginning the plan, particularly with a lot of only S meals. But these symptoms go away as your body adjusts. Your commitment is great. After a while the plan will seem like second nature, and you'll really learn what works for you, and what you like the best too.
lovelea: I stalled after losing 20 pounds just like the book says So I am now doing the fuel pull cycle for the first time

missyhi: Is drinking oolong tea ok when pregnant?

steffanie3: missyhi, if you are uncomfortable with something it is always good to ask your healthcare provider, Oolong is the type of tea served at most Chinese food restaurants

steffanie3: I drank a bit in pregnancy but not large quantities because of caffeine and not with my prenatal because I read teas can inhibit folic acid absorption, which for me was easy because I took them at night anyway and wasn't having caffeine then

babutler: Love the recipes in the book. My husband even likes most of them. If I could just stay on plan at work. It's hard because I am a nurse and work 12 hour shifts. I do ok until 4 or 5 start looking for something to eat.

gs3691: Any good ideas on cooking with quinoa? I tried only once, and I was not pleased with the outcome.

wrapmama14: I love quinoa in soups, add to chili's or broth soups for a more filling high protein meal. I love it but it is bland by itself.

steffanie3: I like it cooked in broth

maggiewonders: Quinoa mixed in with steel-cut oats makes a rockin' breakfast cereal. Wisk a half scoop protein powder w/almond milk & pour over, and then add whatever flavorings, sweetener, toppings - my usual is berries/yogurt/and a sprinkling of chopped walnuts.

shannonlynn: Does anyone have suggestions for a syrup that work on the plan? I originally ordered the Ali's All Natural they suggested in the book, but it is not available anymore. I tried a recipe from Pinterest, but wasn't happy with the taste.

steffanie3: Nature's Hollow makes some syrups (and other things) with xylitol, netrition.com carries them as probably other places online

steffanie3: I haven't made zucchini fritters Sophia, I think fritters are typically pretty good sized (deck of cards maybe).

steffanie3: I don't see a correction on the Macaroons, but I do add a bit more egg whites if they don't seem wet enough to stick together I really enjoy those.
