I really love using fresh ginger for the GGMS. So, I came up with a 'frugal' idea to give the fresh ginger 2 uses before throwing the ginger purée out. After you have strained the ginger from making the GGMS, put it in a saucepan with 2-4 cups water. Heat till steaming and remove from heat. Once it had cooled, strain it and use it for another batch of GGMS or for the Shrinker or to make a ginger tea.
