Hi,
I am new. So new that I don't even have the book yet (just ordered it this morning). I have been reading quite a bit online and trying to do some of my research in advance.
I did come across a thread (which I can't find now) about being vegetarian while following THM. I am not going to ever return to becoming a meat eater so I need to know, can I still do this while being a lacto ovo vegetarian (I don't eat any meat, fish or poultry but I do eat dairy and eggs). I eat a lot of lentils, tofu, soy, tempeh etc. Are those included in the plan? I don't want to necessarily eat eggs every day either. If beans, lentils, tofu and soy etc are considered proteins, that would be fantastic.
I thank you in advance for any information you can give me because I am a bit worried that I ordered the book before even finding out if a vegetarian can follow the plan.

I think a vegetarian could for the most part follow the plan.... But read the book and see what you think of their opinion of meat. :-) I was raised a vegetarian. And tried to follow a vegetarian diet to get my B.P. under control. I feel so much better having some meat in my diet, and have had more success with T.H.M and getting my B.P. under control.

The book is insightful about vegetarian eating. My husband is a lacto ovo. vego. ( as I was for many years until about 3 years ago) He does not eat according to this plan at all. In my humble opinion it would be difficult to follow the plan to a tee as a vegetarian. However I have not properly tried. Also if you are interested in diets and have the cash I would probably suggest the book anyway as it is actually a very good read about all dietary techniques and would definitely be useful.

Hi Veggielou! I am in the same predicament that you were in and I was wondering if you were able to make this work for you.
