I have finished the book. I am wondering where do I begin? Did any of you have trouble starting or am I just dumb as a box of rocks? I know what to do but my pocket book and mind are very conflicting right now. Did you all start by planning out every meal the first week? I normally catch on to new things very easily. Maybe I need to read my book again . HELLLLPPPP.....PLEASE.

Here's some things that helped me. I started before I bought any special ingredients. I planned each days menus at first the night before, but was still flexible. I looked up recipes online to help with ideas. There is a lot you can do without lots of time or expensive ingredients. Start with two or three breakfasts: 1 - eggs, w/ sauteed vegies. 2 - kefir shake. 3 - MIM. Lunch can be salad with fish or chicken and lots of S toppings. Supper is great to try out recipes you've looked up. Do what you can on plan to start and add more recipes ingredients as you have time/ money. :-) It should become easier!

Rebekah has some great advice there. You could also start implementing the plan in baby steps. Maybe start with one meal a day. This can be very helpful to keep you from feeling overwhelmed, and also to really help you understand the plan well, which will make it so much easier. It takes practice for a little bit before the principles sink into your mind and it becomes like second nature. This is normal.

Well, breakfast was not a big success. I was running late and one of the men at work brought me a cheese danish. Big big weakness for me.

That's ok. Your next chance is only 3 hours away! =) Don't expect perfection at the beginning.

The problem I would see with grits are that they are highly processed and not the whole corn... like white flour, and probably high glycemic. You can get natural whole corn grits. They are yellow. I know they would be better, but I don't know if they would be recommended or not..

meme1229, like Rebekah mentioned there is a whole corn (not-processed) grits that would work in an E setting if you needed to get your grits fix. Be aware of the max carbs of 45g in an E setting & 5g fat...so very little butter is allowed . From one southern gal to another, giving up those grits w/ cheese, butter, & bacon was tough at first but now it's no big deal

In the shoutbox below, someone is asking to have Facebook documents sent to her. Where on FB are those documents?

Quick question for this newbie...Can we do blackberries instead of blueberries? I love 'em and they're so much sweeter, but then I thought I'd better ask because I don't want to sabotage myself! I'm having a snack of 0% greek plain yogurt with blackberries and stevia. AM I good? (please say yes! I love blackberries!)

Yes you can. If my memory serves me correctly, they are lower in carbs than blueberries.
