Ginger Cream Trimmaccino (or Ginger Cream Chai)
Starbucks must be losing some business – Trimmaccinos are taking over! These warm, creamy and slimming drinks are just what we all feel like in frosty weather. But any drink can be creamed the Trimmaccino way – if you still love icy drinks, the same basic recipe works great whether hot or cold. We’re constantly being asked for the Trimmaccino recipe - had to chuckle at the latest request for that “Drink- a-chino thing.” The THM community loves it's nicknames for recipes, many mamas are now just calling this the "Trimmy".
Below are the links to the coffee and Hot Chocolate versions. I’ve been enjoying this ginger version lately and now you can add this recipe to your Trimmaccino repertoire. You’ll have the most incredible warming, immune boosting, flu soothing, creamy medicine in a "CHINO".
Ginger Cream Trimmaccino
Ingredients:
8-12 oz. hot water or any tea of your choice
1 flat tsp. of ginger powder (ground ginger)
Pure Stevia extract to taste (try 1-2 “doonks” – and just so you know, the word “doonk” means 1/32 of a tsp. in Pearl’s and my THM cooking vocabulary – a very small amount)
1-2 pinches of Celtic Sea Salt
1-2 squirts Pure vanilla extract
1 doonk Gluccie (Gluccomannan)
1 tsp. of MCT oil (or you can use coconut oil if you don’t have MCT oil)
1 tsp. of Grass Fed butter
1 tsp. Whey Protein Powder
Optional 1 drop of DO TERRA ON GUARD essential oil or YOUNG LIVING thieves oil (for Chai version)
Directions:
Put all ingredients in blender except for gluccie and whey protein. (For the Rich version which is used for THM S purposes) include both 1 tsp. MCT oil or coconut oil and 1 tsp. butter. For the light version (for THM FP and E purposes) use either 1 tsp. of MCT oil or ½ tsp. butter and omit the other tsp. of fat).
*Please review and follow the manufacturer's instructions on using hot liquids in your blender, or use a tall heatproof cup & an immersion blender.*
Start the blender on low then add gluccie and whey protein while it is running.
Turn blender to ultra-high for a count of 10 – you’re done!
Add 1 drop of Therapeutic oil to your mug for the chai version and gently stir.
