This summer I want to practice hospitality & actually have friends, families over for meals & fellowship. Lord willing, we should have plenty fresh veggies from the garden to help with meal plans. I hope to invite moms & their children for lunch as well as families for lunch after church. (So the crockpot works great for Sunday meals.) I would need a main dish for everyone that is THM friendly (like taco or fajita meat) or similar dishes that wouldn't be to difficult to prepare at the same time (like pizza & THM pizza - I do that anyway for my family). What would you do for a main dish when having company? What side dishes would complement it? Dessert ideas?

Tacos and fajitas are great ideas I also like to do roasts, you can throw in carrots and potatoes for children and those not on plan and I really like how radishes cook up under the roast in the crockpot. My friend who is also doing THM and I would make tuna salad for everyone and the children would have it with crackers and she and I would have it on a green salad, we would cut up apples, cheese, and other finger type foods to go with it for us and the children. You could do cottage cheese as well if you like. Hamburgers are another thing I like for company, you can do hot dogs for the children or hamburgers for all. I like to wrap mine in lettuce and have gluten free family members that enjoy it as well, but you can have buns for the ones who want it. Chef salads can be another good company meal. We had a three family Bible study and we all brought toppings and everyone could make their own. Our children all at everything well, not sure if everyone's would, but with things like hard boiled eggs, cheese, olives, etc I think they could get a meal. We keep sides pretty simple usually a veggie with butter or a salad or veggies and dip.

For dessert I am pretty simple and like to just let frozen mixed berries defrost with a bit of sweetener and top with cream or whipped cream.

Those are great suggestions! I'll be making notes in my daybook. I've never had radishes with a roast. Will try that soon!

Any ideas from others? Tried & true meal menus? Thanks!
