Any ideas why my Country Biscuits would have flopped? They were powdery and barely held together, then with just a little pressure crumbled in to powder. Seems like there wasn't enough liquid, but I followed the recipe.....awful disappointing (although it is the first recipe from the book I've completely flopped, so it's not too bad)
Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Ummm, don't know. You did make your own coconut flour I'm guessing? Store bought won't work for that recipe.

This totally happened to me awhile ago! I was so disappointed. BUT I have made them sucessfully since then. I think the problem was that I processed them wrong. I think that recipe calls for the food processor, and I had used my blender or something. I always tell my friends not to give up on a recipe from the book unless they have followed it to the letter first. I check and re-check the directions as I make each recipe until I've made it sucessfully a number of times. Hope that helps!

I used purchased (Bob's Red Mill) flour. I guess that must be the problem!
Why wouldn't store bought work in that recipe?
Thanks ladies!

Store bought coconut flour is much more dense and dry. Grinding shredded coconut will give you a much lighter, fluffier, and more moist product.

Sorry to bring back a very old thread, but I messed this up too and now I'm wondering if there is some "fix" I could do with the dough I have left that would make it edible? I seriously hate to throw out so much! Any ideas of what I could make this over to be? (or should I just throw it out )

Would if be possible to make it into a crust by pressing it into a pan? Bake it and try it with blueberries and yogurt. I'm guessing it might be like a crumb crust. Hope you figure it out. I hate throwing good food out.

Some mamas have fixed by adding more liquids, basically guess and check until they get a consistency that is correct and freezing part of the muffins because you will end up with a lot after that

I hate throwing good food out. That's a good idea! I did keep trying to add liquid and it was a never ending process! lol Will try the "crust" and see if that works! Thanks!
