Whenever I make the muffin in a mug, I follow the directions exactly, and I am careful to microwave for the exact amount of time. Only one time did it turn out right, but all of the other times it came out gooey and nasty. It pulled away from the sides of the cup and was horrible. I use fresh brown eggs, could that be the cause?

I bet it is probably just a difference in the microwave ovens, maybe cook it just a bit longer, some mamas prefer them a little undercooked and gooey

I always do 2 min in my microwave and I didn't think it was particularly low power. Nebby

I did ONE minute this morning. It pulled away from the sides of the mug, as it should. BUT the bottom was a bit moist still so I popped it back in for another 20 seconds.
VERY tasty and not gooey at all, this was the plain MIM (no chocolate) 2 Tbsp Almond and 2 Tbsp Flax flour. Maybe you took the chocolate out and forgot to add in the extra flour?

Just play around with it. I have a few different times, depending on type. I've also taken it out if the mug and done it on a plate, once it's solid, but not quite cooked.
