What is the best way to calculate your BMI? I didn't think it was a good idea to do it based on weight, since some people weigh more when they lose fat and add muscle. Also, what is the healthiest BMI to have for a female athlete? I was reading this, www.livestrong.com/article/375603-what-is-a-good-bmi-for-women/ Is this good info? :-) Also, is there a difference between BMI and body fat percentage?

Yes, BMI and body fat % is different. BMI is standard. Any calculator will do. Body fat % calculation varies. The most acurate is an under water test. I' e had it done with electrodes or callipers. My scale has it. There's on line calculators the base it on various measurements of your body. I'm not sure how accurate any if those are.

So, would you calculate body fat percentage the same way? Body fat percentage is what I was getting at, I just didn't know the 2 were different.

I have a weigh scale that calculates my body fat percentage when I stand on it. I have no idea how accurate it is but since I only weigh myself on that scale I use it as a reference point and go from there. My scale is made by Taylor.

Your welcome! I tried to post a picture but I guess it was too big. I know that those scales can be on the expensive side so before I could afford it I used to go to a local gym and yet would charge me $1-2 to use their body fat scale. It also calculates other things like muscle mass, hydration etc.

Mine just does weight, fat % and water %. I bought it at a liquidation store, so it wasn't too bad.
