I'm just getting started on the plan and I'm loving that I get to have real food. I have a huge sweet tooth, especially for chocolate. I was so excited to see all the different chocolate recipes included in the book. However, I've been a little disappointed with the outcome. I'm a huge chocolate lover, but I prefer milk chocolate and do not like dark chocolate at all. I've found that the recipes I've tried have more of a dark chocolate flavor to them...Muffin in a mug, cake in a mug. I tried making the chocolate nut slab and it was horrible. It didn't matter how much sweetener or cream I put in it tasted like straight bakers chocolate. Is there a way to make the chocolate recipes taste less like dark chocolate? And to make the skinny chocolate or chocolate nut slab like milk chocolate?

I found the same when I started. The chocolate can be a bit hard to get use to at first. I recommend trying to fill your sweet tooth with other stuff until you're more accustomed to sugar free stuff. However, my favourite recipie from the book for chocolate has tasted good right from my first try. The Rich Peanut Butter Fudge is AMAZING!!

I love dark chocolate, but the cake in a mug was still too bitter for me. I do, however, enjoy the skinny chocolate, which I make with just stevia, like Serene prefers. I think it will just take some getting used to. I made the cheesecake today. It was great.

Most of the recipes do have a more dark chocolate taste than milk and some mamas have opted to use half the suggested cocoa, you could try that and see how it goes Chocolate Nut Slab surprises me though, a good amount of cream should get it more milk chocolatey. So maybe like Blessed suggested some time for taste buds to adjust might be good What kind of sweetener are you using? If you are not used to a pure stevia extract that can be tricky to get just the right amount without going over and into bitter.

I used truvia for the sweetener in the chocolate nut slab. I do like the cake in a mug. I definitely couldn't eat it by itself, but with fat free reddi whip it's really yummy and satisfies my cake cravings. I love cake!
