I'm going camping in the wilderness for 4 days and won't be able to refrigerate foods during that time. I was wondering if there was any plan approved granola bars? What items would go into a plan approved trail mix? Any ideas on how I could make a plan approved oatmeal that all I needed to do was add hot water to it? Any other ideas of non-perishable foods I could take? I'm planning on making a bunch of crackers to take with me (Josephs crackers, low carb cinnamon dippers, just like wheat thins etc).

Maybe mixed nuts instead of trail mix? I haven't made the granola in the book, I wonder if it could be tweaked to a bar?

Hi ladies, Just thought I would post an update on how my trip went....first of all, we had gorgeous, hot weather the whole time! We found some beautiful hot springs and explored some stunning (and also very rugged!) back roads in the interior of BC. As for food...I actually did pretty good at staying on plan! For breakfasts I had oatmeal (E) that I made in advance: 1/2 cup oats, 1 tsp truvia, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp peanut butter and 1/2 an apple (I added approximately 1 cup of water to this mixture). For lunch I had ham, tomatoe, lettuce and cheese on Joseph's wraps that I brought along (S). For snacks I brought trail mix (almonds, pumpkin seed, sunflower seed, roasted peanuts, dark chocolate chips), just like wheat thin crackers, Joseph's crackers, and low carb cinnamon crackers. For dinner I had smokies with lettuce, tomatoe and cheese on oopsie rolls that I brought along (S). And I brought a few peanut butter chocolate cookies along for the moments when I wanted a dessert (S). The only goofs I made involved eating chips with guacamole one night and eating a burger with the bun still on it because it came with shredded lettuce and I felt like it was going to be too messy to eat without the bun (poor excuse, I know!). Overall I'm pretty happy with the foods I ate!

It went way better than I thought it would! But I still think I will hold off weighing myself for a few days since I goofed a few times this week.
