I thought that there was supposed to be at least 3 hours between each meal or snack. Does that only apply when switching from E to S? If so, that would make things easier! (I know that this is probably obvious to you all, so please forgive the newbie? )

You should be trying to eat that far apart so that you aren't continually grazing. If you do get really hungry in between, it's best to go for a FP snack.

But I have been reading through the threads, and am seeing people eat 3 meals and 4 snacks, which is practically round the clock. So, if I'm having an E start to the day, and have oatmeal with non-fat Greek yogurt at 8am, then I could snack at 11am and eat a late lunch at 2pm. Then unless I don't eat dinner until 8pm, there will be no more space for snacks, right? Or, I could eat lunch eaflier, and have an afternoon snack. So plan on 1 snack/day unless I get desperate and add another in the evening?

In that scenario I would likely do: 8am~ breakfast 11am~lunch 2pm~snack 5pm~supper 8pm~snack/dessert Those times being approximate and depending on when you get up and go to bed and family evening schedule if you eat with others

Some ladies are nursing or pregnant and need a bit more fuel, or even have a midnight snack

I'm nursing a chunky baby. If I don't get enough, my supply drops. I'm not loosing much. But! I usually gain 30lbs while nursing. So just holding steady is a victory for me. 7:30- breakfast 10- snack 12:30- lunch 3- snack 5:30- dinner 8- snack if hungry

Hi! I'm a newbie too, and after reading the book ,it all makes so much sense. I have spent my life counting ---calories, points, fat, carbs, etc... I only have one question. How much fat is recommended for each S meal or per day? I ask because "eating until you are satisfied " is a foreign concept to me. I've never been able to determine that. If you put a cheesy dish or chocolate fudge in front of me, healthy or not, I will probably eat the whole recipe. With the carb limit of no more than 45 gr. , that is perfect because it establishes a limit for me. I know this way of eating will be so much healthier , but I also would like to lose that extra 20 lbs. I'm afraid I might overdo the fats if I don't have a general serving size. Thanks!

I did answer in the chat box before I saw this I would encourage you to start to listen to your body. Maybe something that will help is to think in the way of building a meal with protein + fuel (S fats or E carbs) + non-starchy veggies. This way you can help set yourself up for success by having in mind I need a good protein, plus some fuel and a nice size serving of veggies that way the veggies will be there to help you fill up. With desserts (depending on type) I try and stick with a piece or two (maybe three of something small like fudge). Skinny Chocolate is something you can enjoy quite freely in S It seems like many ladies find as they come to enjoy the plan moderation becomes more natural. Lots of ladies start out with more dairy heavy/dessert heavy foods eating to their hearts content because they have been depriving themselves for a long time. Then naturally they kind of come around to enjoying more of the Deep S type meals like a nice baked salmon filet with buttered broccoli and a salad with a little olive oil and lemon. My encouragement would be to mix it up, do some of those heavy meals (and do enjoy them) and mix it up with some of the deep meals (enjoying them as well) when S meal planning.

This is a helpful answer for me, too, thanks :-) Most days I'm good, but Wednesdays I'm out all day long and I wasn't sure what type pf snack to pack with me

Thanks Stephanie! I started the plan on Sunday , taking a " leap if faith" ?, even though I was fearful of not having strict limits like I have had on every diet I have been on over the last 40 years. I had never been able to sense when my body was satisfied. Well, miracle of miracles? , even after the first day of giving my body the wholesome foods, in the correct combinations, I could, for the first time, sense when I was satisfied! I can't express what a feeling of freedom and power this has given me. Freedom from the cravings, from the binging, and the power to be able to really hear my body when it tells me it has what it needs. I am so thankful to the two of you ,who put in the time and effort to bring this to so many. Many get inspiration, but few put forth the effort to act on it. Blessings to you both!
