Okay, so I really want to know what your body does with extra fat calories? A lot of focus in THM and "low carb" diets is on carbs and how bad they are in excess amounts or the wrong carbs. Great pain is taken to not raise blood sugar. Totally get that! I love the insulin truck analogy. For once I really understand what carbs do!
But why is there never really any focus on consuming too much fat? I really want to know how the body metabolizes fat and why we needn't worry too much about extra fat calories. Obviously if we ate high fat meals every day, every meal I'm guessing we'd run into problems. I know THM suggests some lower fat options to lessen the fat a bit in some S meals to a small extent (there is talk in the book of cutting the calorie count a little with, say 1/3 fat cream cheese.) But, overall THM seems unconcerned with fat content in S meals.
Does the body flush away extra fat instead of storing? At what point does the body start to store extra fat? Could someone enlighten me? Thanks! :-)

I'm not entirely sure. I believe it's addresses it the book. I'm skimming through quickly, but can't find anything specific except where it says to take it easy with eating calorie dense foods like nuts. You aren't going to want to sit down and eat a cup of nuts. Loading stuff in cheese can also slow weight loss.

I've been mentally going through what THM means for me. I've been feeling like I'm getting away from the principles of what THM teaches. I'm not sure if this answers the question about amounts of fats to be eaten, but I think it helps to see that balance is important. Anyone out there reading the blog posts from Briana Thomas will appreciate her honest post on Food Freedom or Gluttony. www.briana-thomas.com/food-freedom-or-gluttony/This was good for me to read.

That is a great post susieq There is talk in the book about calorie abuse, in the Lifelong chapter around page 123. Another mention is the Trimacciano, Serene mentions that is why she enjoys that drink instead of the super popular Bulletproof coffee. I do think if you are switching up your meals and snacks well most mamas will be in a pretty "normal" calorie range
