If you would like to post a picture, you must upload it to a website such as www.tinypic.com. On tinypic, you click on 'choose photo'. Select a photo from your hardrive. Then click on the green button that says 'upload'. 4 codes will appear. Choose the code for forums that will being with ' '. Copy and paste that into your post.' If you need to resize your photo, you can do so at www.shrinkpictures.com/resize.php Step by step instructions are listed on the site.

Tonight I was going to post a few photos to the forum when I realized that tiny pic is a completely public domain and even your email address and full name may become available to the general public via the internet. Maybe I read the privacy policy wrong, but that is at least what I understood it to be saying. Is that what everyone else is getting? Thanks for your input!! I really, really wanted to put my cheesecake pic up.

I have been using tinypic without a login. I have never given them my email address, or any other personal information. When I open the page, I can upload a picture, copy the link, and paste it on the forum - no personal information given them whatsoever. Have you tried using it without actually signing up?

I used it without signing up too Andrea. I don't think they know my email address. My only problem is figuring out how to not make my pictures come out so giant big. Emily? Do you know what I am doing wrong? If I load them off facebook they are okay but if I take them off my camera onto my computer, they turn out so huge here.

When I'm using pictures from my computer I first go to the shrinkpictures link given in the top post. It's very simply to resize, just a few clicks and nothing complicated. You can try different sizes as often as you need to get it the size you want. Then I click "download" and save it to my computer, and use the new picture to upload to tinypic.

I'm having a hard time uploading a pic for an avatar. I use flickr and have posted in the threads, and have used avatars before, but something here is just not clickin'. I'm still working on it. Any hints? I'm using the url for the shot, and specifying a size smaller than the max listed, but nothing is showing up. help?

Have you tried resizing it first with tinypic or shrinkpicures.com?

So I figured out how to post a picture on a thread, but how do I post a picture to my 'profile' - so that it shows up on the side of the screen along with my member name?

If you go to your profile page and click "Modify Profile," there is a place for you to enter an "avatar URL." You'll have to upload your picture to a site like tinypic, and possible resize it, and use the URL code they give you there.

Thank you Emily - I've tried, and am not successful...it's okay. - thanks again. Blanca, I just failed at getting a photo that way as well. Then I "right-clicked" on the photo at Tinypic & clicked on "copy image URL" Then I pasted in to my profile and it showed up! I had to tweek the dimensions a few times. I hope this helps.

I'm grateful to be a new member of the forum. I meant for that HUGE photo to be the one that appears under my member name. I'm sorry that I hogged so much space on your screen, folks!
