My food processor holds 5 cups and I did exactly as the directions called. This was my first time making it so maybe there were too many nuts in comparison to everything else....but it's still very good. I happen to like the crunch.
I would think with a larger capacity I would add extra nuts and cream cheese [especially if it's a 20 cup capacity.
I'm so new when it comes to food processors that I had no idea they come in different sizes till this post. LOL!!!
I have a 5 cup Ninja blender. I follow the recipe and love it. I don't know if this is more of a family recipe thing or not, but if anybody likes Pretzel Jello we take this recipe and add a couple shakes of salt. It sort of makes you think it has pretzels in it because of the crunch and salt. We call it Pretzel Jello Ice Cream which is an interesting name considering it has no pretzels in it, no Jello, and no Ice Cream! GOOD STUFF!!
Ok....I just have to give this two thumbs up. I took this to a Super Bowl party tonight. I also made the cheescake because of delightx8's post.
Every one loved it and wanted to know what it had in it.
One of my friends was lamenting about how she couldn't have any of the desserts because they had sugar in them. I was so happy to tell her mine had Truvia and she quickly went and had a helping. I told her about the THM book and the great recipes and she wants me to send her the link.
steffanie3: For breads you want to stick with the E guidelines of whole grain sourdoughed or sprouted or whole grain rye.

asensenig: Does this include Ezekiel Bread? I have a THM recipe that calls for 7 cups wheat kernels. It does not mention that it needs to be sprouted or rye.

steffanie3: Ezekiel is sprouted. You could post your recipe up in a post so we could see it

asensenig: Ezekiel Mix: 12 cups Barley; 12 cups Rye or Spelt; 4 cups dry lentils; 4 cups millet; 4 cups dry pinto beans; 3 cups dry soy beans. Another question. Can rye berries be used without sprouting?

steffanie3: I was thinking you meant the store bought Ezekiel which is sprouted. This recipe would not be on plan with the honey.

asensenig: ok. if you substituted another sweetner for the honey, would it be ok?

aecmama: hello! just started the plan and wondering about the Chobani 100 yogurt that is sweetened with stevia and also monkfruit extract (both of which I have already in the house!) Anyone know anything? I've spent awhile searching. Are either of these on plan?

steffanie3: Can you list the ingredients aecmama?

steffanie3: Cane juice is sugar and is not on plan, sorry.

steffanie3: Are the grains and beans sprouted asensening?
Apr 16, 2014 16:04:42 GMT -5
aecmama: any thoughts about monkfruit extract as a sweetener?
Apr 16, 2014 16:05:09 GMT -5
steffanie3: "At this time, there is not an official recommendation to use monk fruit, but the early research on monk fruit extract is encouraging." The THM ladies are still researching it. If it were me I would use up what you have then get a stevia extract
