Excited to start trying this. Here's my list of questions: 1) Is nonfat powdered milk okay to use? In which meals? 2) I drink a powdered carrot juice every day - is this okay to drink while wanting to lose weight? 3) What about a powdered barley drink? 4) Chocolate is good!?!?! What about caffeine? Sugar doesn't make my kids jumpy, but chocolate always does. Is this b/c of the choc sugar combo? Please tell me if choc recipes in the book will have a negative caffeine effect. 4A) Coffee same question as #4 5) Can I use all the flours interchangeably? For instance, if it calls for coconut flour, can I use oat flour? We LOVE baked goods, so I'm wanting to try alot of them, but don't want to buy 4 different kinds of flour starting out. 6) How do I substitute white sugar and brown sugar with stevia in my favorite recipes w/o losing the texture of my muffins, cinn rolls, etc.? 7) Can I make homemade jams with stevia? Do I need to add more pectin or gelatin or do I use glucomannon? 8) Hubby's question: how come Asians are so healthy and all they eat is rice and fish?! 9) My daughter has started making cheese (from grocery store milk - we don't have raw milk source) - is the whey from that as healthy as drinking whey powder? If so, can I use it in place of whey powder? Thanks!

1~I don't know the carbs in powdered milk, nonfat dairy tends to be higher in carbs though. Do you want to use it to drink or in recipes? 2~I would think the carrot juice would have carbs, same as juicing carrots, they are sweet. 3~Powdered barley grass should be great, you can check the carbohydrates to be sure, but mine is 1 carb in a serving. 4~Cocoa doesn't change by boys behavior, artificial colors on the other hand totally do. Sorry I don't drink coffee, I think it is about moderation and Serene wrote a post about it and why she likes it. 5~No you definitely can't use the flour interchangeably, maybe start with one and add more recipes slowly. You are wanting oat fiber not oat flour too 6~Hmm, substituting stevia is tricky in backed goods, I don't think it is a clear rate. If your children are a healthy weight they can have more of those treats and they can be made with honey/molasses/etc. 7~I hope to find some canning recipes with stevia, but I would find a canning approved one and stick to it. 8~Asians have obesity problems hitting them in cities with the influence of fast food, soda, and alcohol (beer from her experience) according to my friend who has lived in a few Asian countries. Diabetes is on the rise in parts of Asia. I would say traditionally they do eat a lot of E meals I wouldn't say all they eat is rice and fish though, Kobe beef comes to mind, but they certainly do eat a lot more fish because of access. I think all the walking and activity in their culture probably makes a huge difference as well, being more active than sedentary Americans. 9~The whey from cheese making is awesome for use in fermenting and for people at a goal weight, they use whey to fatten animals though There are some posts by Serene and Pearl in this forum that may address your questions much better than I can trimhealthymama.freeforums.net/board/3/serene-pearl-chats-tips-tweaksHope these quick answers help you a bit, I hope others chime in as well Welcome!

Thanks! I use the powdered milk in cooking, we never drink it. Would that be on plan? Can the flours not be interchanged b/c it would change whether the meal was S or E? So, whey for when I've lost my weight, not before. What about baking with it? Also, is it normal to be hungry between meals? I've only been doing this for a few days, but I have eaten til I'm very full, then am very hungry before the next meal or snack is close. What could I do to help that? I don't have all the whey powder, glucomannon, etc., yet, so I'm not on the frappas or any of that. It's on order and I plan to start with smoothies for handy snacks and breakfasts.

I guess it would depend on the recipe, maybe in an E? Without knowing what recipes I am just not sure. The flours are totally different, for an example coconut absorbs quite a bit of water and most recipes call for quite a few eggs with coconut flour. It would again depend on the recipe for the baking, but I guessing in an E setting whey might be ok. I would eat some more at your meals make sure you are getting comfortably full, lots of protein should help you stay fuller longer. The frappas and smoothies are great breakfasts and snacks
