Hi, I'm new- as in just got my book and am rapidly reading. I already have scanned a few blogs, so I'm a little familiar with the general concepts. I'm realizing that there are MANY meals that can use regular store bought items, but would like to get the best bang for my buck with some of the specialty items. For instance, Nusnaturals brand Nustevia Pure White Stevia Extract Powder is the best tasting and you use only a little, so therefore the best choice if you can do it. What are some other favorites, please include brand and item name. I'm looking for the stevia, Glucomannan, Xylitol or Eyrithritol, peanut flour, almond flour, whey protein powder, unsweet almond milk, unsweet cocoa powder, canned tuna & Salmon. There are probably extras, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. I have a local natural foods market, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's close by, so I may be able to get a few items soon. I'll have to get a few as time and money allow and just build it into our budget as other food choices are dropped. Thanks! I'm excited to be starting on this new adventure and am looking forward to some added energy! I'm a mom of a 5 mo old and 2 1/2 year old and finally getting to sleep through the night!!!

Gluccomannan, stevia, whey protein powder, peanut flour, and almond flour are typically the cheapest online. Actually, some of them I have never seen in a store, like the gluccomannan. I like to get Konjac brand gluccie from www.netrition.com, and I also order Protein Plus Peanut Flour from there as well. You can also use the NOW brand of gluccie, which you can order for the same price per ounce at www.swansonvitamins.com. I think the Konjac brand is a little smoother, but this one is fine too. From the same site I order Swanson Premium Whey Protein powder. Note that it is NOT Swanson Ultra. The Premium is the kind that you want. This whey protein is the best price I've found for a good whey protein, and it tastes great too. I believe vanilla is the only flavor here. If you want other flavors, you can check out Serene's posts about whey protein here on the forum (a series of posts), where she lists a few other good options. I use the NuNaturals pure stevia extract powder, which I order from www/iherb.com in a 1 lb. container, which should last well over a year. It's the cheapest price per ounce that I've found. I like Truvia as well, and I buy that in a regular grocery store. Right now, almond flour isn't in my budget, but the cheapest place to get a good almond flour is from www.honeyvillegrain.com. This is their blanched almond flour. I love to buy my canned fish, cocoa powder, and almond milk at Trader Joe's. You can find the canned fish at just about any grocery store, but Trader Joe's cans are BPA free, which I like. I use Almond Breeze unsweetened almond milk, which is $2 for a carton (unrefrigerated). Silk brand almond milk is actually my favorite, but Trader Joe's doesn't have it. You can choose large cartons of almond milk in the refrigerated sections, or smaller ones in the isles. Walmart also has good prices for almond milk and cocoa powder. I also love Hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder (both the regular and the special dark versions), which you can typically find at any store. Trader Joe's is slightly cheaper for me, but not quite as good. =)

Costco has silk almond milk (refrigerated) for 3 1/2 gal. cartons for 7.59, and Blue Diamond almond Breeze (shelf) is 8.99 for 6 32oz. cartons.
