Are these okay on the diet?
Ingredients
Olive oil spray 2/3 cup mild honey, such as clover or orange blossom 1/3 cup natural, unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 cup white whole wheat flour 1/4 teaspoon aluminum-free baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 large egg, at room temperature 3/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Hmm.... They're not exactly on plan, but they're not completely off either. I think you could make these and, providing you stick to a small portion size, you could be just fine. But they're not ideal. Honey, whole wheat flour, and applesauce (sugar free) are all fine, but each of them can easily be over done, especially if the wheat is not fermented, soaked, or sprouted. It will be higher on the glycemic index. So, you can make these if you want to. Just don't go overboard, and keep it more as an occasional treat.

The Pamela's baking mix is pretty high on the glycemic index. It would be better to give it to your kids. It's a bit too starchy and high glycemic to be in the medium glycemic range that is best for E meals.

You could use it when taking a meal to church. Make something with that and something for you to eat that is on plan. Of course, if you don't often have church meals it can take a LONG time to use it up :-)! This is the only thing I can think of right off hand (because we are eating lunch at church on Sunday!).

Oh that's a good idea. I could also use it when I have guests over every Tuesday and Thursday. Thanks!
