The new recommendations for pure stevia extract are the Kal brand and Now brand Better Stevia.

I thought Kal changed their formula too and now has a bitter taste to it too. Or have they since fixed the problem they had after reformulating.

I haven't heard of any issues with KAL.

I just bought Kroger brand stevia. I've never done this before, so I just went for cheap. Was that a bad idea? I'm new and green at this! I bought a tub of coconut oil at Sam's Club. Slight coconut flavor, which I like, but I'm not sure about the stevia. I have nothing to compare it to. Help, please!
Also, do I need to grind it, even if it's fine?

As long as there are no other off plan items added to the stevia, and you like the taste, it is fine! I have never heard of grinding the stevia. Some recipes that call for Truvia, or another stevia erythritol blend call for grinding, because that is often in a granulated form.
