Pearl is going to be my new best friend. I hit the hormone chapters and it will help me talk to my doctor about what is going on. I struggle with more acne then when I was a kid and I get very aggressive during pms. My husband has even asked me if I was demon possessed!
However I have been suffering more and more from heavy long periods with lots if spotting before and after my menses and even through out my cycle. It's getting worse every month since I was a teenager. I also start getting my period at 6 weeks postpartum! So thanks Pearl! I've known a lot but not I have even more info to go on and bring my doctor.

Welcome!
Isn't it great to find the help you need just when you thought you couldn't take it anymore?
Just an FYI: Pearl and Serene usually don't answer on the forum...I could be wrong, but I actually haven't seen them post anything since I've been on the forum ( I started in July). I was hoping they would, but I totally understand they are busy ladies! They are very active with their FB groups, so if you needed more direct interaction with Pearl, you might want to contact her through FB.
Not that this forum isn't wonderful...it is and I love it and I'm grateful. The moderators do a great job of answering.

Thanks. I wasn't really contacting Pearl. More putting it out there. I'm looking forward to reading more and praying that the information I take to the doctors is well received. Like her I was thinking surgical intervention. Ablation was what I was looking at.

Sarah Beth-- I had a uterine ablation a few months ago for excessive bleeding. Not a complete erasal of periods but they ate much less and way shorter, I was at the point things were not livable because I was afraid to go out in public a few days each cycle and my period would drag on and on for almost two weeks. I was also back on the pill for a whole in the process and I am finding that had not been great for my body or my weight but I don't tie that to the ablation itself. The procedure was painful but I made it through. I would say if you are not missing life for your periods yet it might be worth looking into other ways to modify your hormones first (which i am doing any way now) but I am still overall glad I did the ablation Nebby

I had a hormone panel done, but turns out I got PG that cycle, so probably not to reliable. I was put on BCPs at 13 and my DR was talking about a blood transfusion as my iron got so low. The pill and supplements fixed that though. But I don't want my daughters to end up on them so I'd really like to find out what makes them so heavy. I too can not leave the house. However, since I went off the pill when I was 18, I've been PG and/or nursing and the nursing has kept it away for the most part. I usually just have a few inbetween. Best was when I got PG with no cycle inbetween!
Ablation is what I'm considering when we are done having kids, if I can't sort it out hormonally.
Stuff that helps me is taking ibuprofen. It really reduces flow. As well as using a menstral cup. I use thier largest one, from a company called MeLuna. I can actually go 2 hours with it at my heaviest, compared to 20 minutes otherwise. It's a God send! Hope that wasn't to TMI, but I understand your suffering and wanted to share what's helped.

Thanks everyone. I'm at a women's clinic right now. I'm hoping we can get lots if blood work done this month. I finally stopped bleeding on Sunday February 16 and had been spotting or bleeding since January 31st. Just too long! Fingers crossed people will listen to me and think I'm not crazy.
