Does anyone have a reputable source of info for whether you can take maca while you are using progesterone cream. Some websites said yes, some said no. UGH! Sometimes I think the internet makes me more confused than anything else!

I haven't read anything either way but I would like to know what you read about not taking them together.

This was just one site that I found, then I stopped looking because I was getting overwhelmed with information overload Granted this site is dedicated to curing endometriosis so I don't know how that plays into things. www.cureendometriosis.com/warning-maca-root-powder/I sure wish Pearl would drop in once and awhile to answer questions like this, since she's done so much research. (Not that the moderators aren't doing a great job!!!)

I'll ask & see if we can get Pearl's input on this. I have a sneaking suspicion I will be put on Progesterone & I use Maca all the time so this would be nice to make sure. Although my gut says it shouldn't be a problem. I'll get back to you on this

I know people who know people & we got you an answer, LOL...
Pearl says: "Phyto estrogens - they take unique pathways in each person's body. This would be more of a question for the doctor we have coming on board with us. I disagree that maca should not be taken with any of the other herbs listed. It is a food - a ground root, each person needs to monitor their own symptoms when taking not make fast and hard rules about it. That's my take on this anyway. The more we dig into hormone manipulation the more complicated it gets. Just like with eating, too many rules defeat the purpose, it will be a unique response case by case."

Are there any recommendations from Pearl about maximum amount daily consumption of macaroot? Again I see conflicting information doing searches.

I can check but based on her prior response that maca should be treated like a food my guess would be to use it appropriately for each fuel category. I know maca does contain carbs & over a certain amount can put you into E territory. Personally, I use around 1 tsp per recipe to keep it in FP range.

Thank you. I had no idea if it had carbs or fat. I got mine from Azure standard, and it didn't have that info on it.
So do you use it several times a day?
I just got mine last week and I am getting used to the taste. It reminds me of sweet potato a little, but a little like dirt, too (I think Pearl said that in another post). It's not that terrible, though. I have been masking it with cocoa powder and peanut flour in smoothies or oatmeal. I started with 1/2 tsp per day and will work it up slowly.
I know it is in the category of "adaptogen", so it will do whatever the body needs it to do, so I guess I'll have to experiment...but I don't want to have too much either, even if it is a food.

I try to get in a tsp a day when I can. I love putting it in Earthmilk with cocoa powder & protein powder. I will also add it to FSF & puddings. I'm not exact about it but usually around 1 tsp/day.
