Hi guys, I know that it is important to include E meals and avoid eating all S meals but I was wondering how many E meals should I try to have per day? I really struggle to eat E meals other than breakfasts because I don't find the meals filling and I don't particularly like beans, quinoa, or sweet potatoes (I will eat them sometimes but don't find these foods overly satisfying). I love, love, love fruite but of course I'm trying to eat it in moderation.....if I am having a piece of fruit what should I eat with it to be the protein portion? Also, I find that I make a lot of mistakes when I try to incorporate E meals....in order to avoid unintentional crossovers I almost have to eat a FP on either side of my E meals. Any suggestions?

I guess the number of E meals per day is something we all have to customize to our own body's needs. That's not too helpful, is it? I generally eat 1-2 a day...but I am a nursing mom, too. The bare minimum suggested in the book is 3 a week... I love fruit, too! There is always the option of adding a VERY SMALL handful of nuts with your fruit as suggested in the book. Another way I love to eat a piece of fruit is in a shake! I make a lot of shakes using low fat keifer and fruit for an E. Also, you can make a big boy smoothie and add some fruit... like a peach! E style pancakes make a fine afternoon or evening meal, they don't just have to be for breakfast! I will sometimes make my applesauce cake for an E. It can be used w/ a FP meal as a dessert to change the meal to an E. Or with a FSF as a snack. Fruit can also be served w/ 0% Greek yogurt for an E meal. Or with cottage cheese. The apple waldorf salad from the book is also delicious. I love E's. Can you tell?

Yeah, I guess there is no magic number for how many E meals are needed each day.... I was listening to the "trim healthy talk" yesterday and both women said that the most important thing to do is change up the fuels so your body doesn't get used to the same fuel all the time. This totally makes sense but I really struggle to implement this without accidentally eating a crossover. I guess I will have to keep brainstorming and trying new ideas to keep my metabolism guessing! I love the waldorf salad too! I usually have it once a week at least! Thanks for the ideas
