Ok, I'm just getting started, and really intimated by all these different "can's" and "can't's". So, I have just gone without anything sweet for the last 3 days, and it is really getting to me. So I was at aldi and picked up a couple of cans of coconut milk and they had strawberries on a great sale. So I was thinking both these were good options, and came home and whipped up a little smoothy with them plus some ice. But I was a little concerned about some of the things on the ingredients list of the coconut milk, like sulfites. Is this why "carton" is mentioned more than cans? And are strawberries in a different category than other berries? And what would this snack be categorized as? Thanks!

The coconut milk would be an S. So are the strawberries, up to a cup. So it sounds like a great S snack! The coconut milk in the can and the stuff in the carton are different and used for different purposes. But both are on plan. The stuff in the carton is for use like milk. The stuff in the can is thicker, and great for use in desserts, etc. You can also add water to dilute it for using like milk. If you are concerned with the ingredients, I would just look for another brand to see if you can find a more 'puristy' kind.
