I'm an American living in France and have recently started this wonderful plan. My problem is that I can't get some basic items here that are needed for your recipes. Frozen okra, low fat cottage cheese, and low fat greek yogurt are the main ones. I can get full fat cottage cheese and greek yogurt, but I don't know how substituting those will effect the fat or carb content of my recipes. (Meaning I don't know if it will still be an E or and S after I've used them!) I can buy fresh okra but it's expensive and I'm not sure how that would translate in recipes anyway if I sub fresh for frozen. So, I guess my main question would be what can I substitute for these items in recipes? If the amount used is small, I'm guessing I can leave it out w/o much difference? But if it's a lot, what to do? Please help! Thanks so much! (And I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong place! I'm new to this!)

I feel your pain on the Okra. I've never been able to find any. As for the low fat prducts, you'd only be abke to use full fat in S recipes, not E or FP. Is ordering on line a possibility?

I found reasonably priced whole fresh okra! I"m going to blanch, cut, and freeze some tonight! So happy!
