Well, I was disappointed with how this came out. I cut the recipe in half. Next time, I will cut the amount of meat and cabbage in half only and keep the seasonings the same. Neither of us could taste the seasonings as they are in the recipe. I did make 2 adjustments. I didn't use onion because I am intolerant to it. I used shallots instead. The second thing I changed was the green onions on the end---I used onion flowers because a) that's what I had and b) I can eat those without any discomfort or diarrhea.

My family found this dish to be bland too, but we really liked it anyway. Each person added soy sauce to taste to their own serving and that made all the difference in the world.

This recipie is a hit in our house! I add a little extra bragg''s, just 1 bag of coleslaw and less meat. That would make it more flavourful.
