Can I use Miracle Whip on plan? Per tablespoon there is 1 gram of sugar, 2 grams carbs, 3.5 grams of fat...
I like it with my toasted tomato sandwiches. It has less fat then mayo, so that's why I'd want to use it more than mayo, so it would work on an E sandwich.
Thanks!

It has off-plan ingredients. (Nasty stuff like modified starch and corn syrup) You are better off with the real thing. Unfortunately most brands are made from soybean oil. So its better to make your own, or use a slice of avocado & some balsamic vinegar as a mayo substitute. If you can get Duke's, I think it is on plan. I believe you can choose other brands if the carb count is 0 sugars per serving, even if sugar is in the ingredients. Admins, please confirm! Someone posted a Miracle Whip copy-cat recipe here: trimhealthymama.freeforums.net/thread/1201/miracle-whipYou can make also mayo lighter (and tangier) by mixing in some 0% greek yogurt.

A trace of added sugar would make it a personal choice item. The copycat recipie sounds like the best choice:)

Yes, that makes sense. The only reason I was using it instead of mayo, was because it had less fat in it, so it worked on an E sandwich. If it wasn't for keeping it an E sandwich, I would have used mayo instead. But, I suppose I could use Greek yogurt instead of mayo. I'll try to be creative. The copycat recipe sounds good too! I might just try it. Thank you both! I'll see if I keep using Miracle Whip or not...

Sometimes it takes a while to let go of the things we are used to. That's ok. You'll eventually get there. If you have to use a low-fat mayo for a while until you find a substitute you like, it isn't going to make a huge difference in the long run. That copycat recipe looks complicated. I would be more inclined to just mix a little sweetener, maybe a little lemon juice and miracle whip type spices into some greek yogurt and call it done. It would be completely fat-free then.
