The glazed donuts are divine and comforting, but low in calories, carbs, and fat so you could eat them at any time. I've even had them for a breakfast treat! They're absolutely delightful, especially when they're nice and warm. These donuts are made from the recipe for Muffin In A Bowl from the THM book (pp. 258), and baked it in my donut maker (just like a waffle maker, except with holes for donuts - available at many stores or online for about $30). I drizzled some vanilla Nighty Night Hot Custard over the tops of them. Delicious! I also dipped the donuts in the leftover custard for extra yumminess. The recipe for hot custard isn't in the book, but here it is for those who don't know it: Basic Ingredients: Whey protein * plan approved sweetener *vanilla or butter extract * boiling water *celtic sea salt (or any other sea salt) * glucomannan *coconut oil 1. Turn on your kettle or put 1 and ¼ cups water in a small saucepan and bring to a rapid boil. 2. Put 1 flat tsp. of vanilla whey protein in blender along with ½ tsp. extra virgin coconut oil, 2 good pinches of celtic sea salt, 3-4 shakes of Nustevia (or 3 teaspoons of Truvia), and ½ -1 tsp. of vanilla or butter flavored extract. 3. Add 1 cup boiling water to blender and start blender. While ingredients are blending add scant ¾ tsp. glucomannan. 4. Blend for about a minute and a half, turn off blender, add the extra ¼ cup of water then blend again for a little while longer. 5. Taste and adjust, your end result should be a perfect balance between the sweetener and the salt. You may need to add more of either sea salt, sweetener or more vanilla or butter flavoring. Keep playing with taste ratio until the flavor is something that satisfies and delights you.

That's amazing!! I've been wanting to try this. I have a mini shortcake maker that I picked up for $10 at Walmart. That way the custard can pool in the cup. :-) If I get it made up soon, I'll post a pic. :-)

I use Sunbeam. It works great for me. And for a good price too.

When you make the donuts, how many donuts does the muffin in a bowl recipe make? Do you have to double the recipe to fill the maker? Thanks!

One batch of Muffin In a Bowl makes 6 or 7 of these donuts. My donut maker cooks 5 at a time, so it fills the maker plus 1 or 2 more.

If I don't have oat fiber, how does grinding up some old-fashioned oats change this recipe? I'm keeping it at the 2tbs. Does it turn it to an E or S helper?

Also... I didn't get the mini-donut maker so I tried this one in my waffle iron and used the glaze as syrup. Totally delicious!
