We had a great time Andrea. Amelia told me she thought it might be a small group so Serene and I were not expecting more than about 20 Mamas which we thought would be nice and cozy. We walked in the door to a packed house, threw us off for a second because we didn't know where everone had come from. But it was sooo good to meet people and hear their stories. We decided to d0 a demonstation of the Egg White Wraps last minute and that was fun. So much great food everywhere. The Q and A time was a blast. Serene was her usual exhuberant self and we were bantering back and forth as per usual, pretty similar to the cartoons of us I guess. wish you could have been there.

Oh Pearl, it sounds wonderful!! I'm sure all the mamas there were blessed down to their toes! Not to mention having a blast and eating amazing food! . Thanks for giving me a 'peek' into the day. I was there in spirit!! <3 McKinsey.....a THM retreat sounds AWESOME!! Serene could line us all up and bark out exercise orders....."give me twenty push-ups ladies and don't even *think* about letting those knees touch the ground!!" Hehe!! What a blast that would be!!

Andreahope - you make me laugh. You think 20 push-ups would be a blast??? Haha - if I could do one, blast would be the sound I made while trying to breath afterwards. I'm sure I'll get there eventually, but not right this moment. A retreat does sound great though.

Beckyd- you WILL get there on the pushups! I couldn't do one before starting this plan, even though I'm athletic. I was actually quite discouraged about that. I have done 10 at once so far! Andrea- I was thinking the same thing! Oh, how fun it would be to get to go and meet you ladies and to hear Serene and Pearl 'live'.

Oh my WORD Becky.....you just made me laugh right out loud!!! Hilarious!! The blast part would be watching us all utterly fail and end up in a heap laughing uncontrollably. I can't even do one male push-up!! I know, shameful!! I can do lots of girly ones, but we will get there Becky!! We *must* persevere!! Angie......we need a planner!! You know, several years ago I thought I was going to meet Pearl, Serene, and Evangeline. My older sister and I signed up for an Above Rubies Retreat where Nancy and all the girls were going to be at. I think the location was supposed to be in Gulf Shore, Alabama. Serene and Pearl were going to sing and Nancy and Evangeline were going to speak. Alas, I believe it was Hurricane Katrina hit, and the retreat was rescheduled for months later. Sadly none of the girls could make it at the later date. My sister and I still went as we had already bought our plane tickets. Thankfully they let us move the flight date. We flew from two seperate northern states and still had a wonderful time together and being blessed and challenged by what Nancy shared, but missed hearing the sisters sing and speak. So now, I really, really, *really* need to meet them!! And I want to meet my fellow THM mamas!!!!!

I got to be there! Girls, it was terrific!! I wished so bad that we could actually ALL meet! It was at Amelia's beautiful home (that place looks like something straight from Better Homes and Gardens!), and it was a rainy day. Pearl and Serene were fashionably late. There was a large crowd already there, as Pearl said. Pearl's daughter Meadow, who is working on TH for teens was there. Serene had along Cherish (I think) and little Haven Rest (who is basically like a baby version of Serene, all energy and zest for life Lol!). The girls were so lovely!! I could barely believe how tall they are! I am very short (5'2), so I literally look up to them. They both look so healthy and youthful! Pearl is very caring and sweet - while Serene is super energetic and bursting with excitement. Something happened that was so hilarious, I thought. During the Q & A Pearl was answering a question and Serene burst in with her opinion. Pearl listened while Serene talked... then finally cut in with a quick "CAN I talk now?" Monique really captured them well in her illustrations in the book. -Monique was there too! I hope someday you all can get the chance to meet them too. I felt sort of spoiled because it all worked out so well for me, and there were so many worthy others who couldn't be there. But who knows what wonderful THM adventures lie ahead for all of us?

Thanks for the run-down of what it was like! Sounds so fun. I wondered if you picked anything up that you want to remember from hearing them speak? Like if you got more clarity or anything? Tips?

Well, for one thing, there was a good bit of talk about purism (I seem to remember Serene saying something about having told her husband to 'throw the stove off the deck', probably during her raw food phase. The point was made that purism can be taken over the top and be more detrimental to your body than some nutritional evils. Also, it was encouraging to be reminded that God knows, and is in control of our finances when it comes to food. We are called to be faithful with what he has given us - we shouldn't be wasting time pining for what we cannot afford (s.a. grass fed beef, organics, etc...) We can trust God to preserve us. :-)
