I'm in NZ and keen to start on THM. Is anyone else in NZ doing it and knows the best place to source ingrediants? Don't have time to spend hours browsing, and not sure how many of the brands recommended in the book are available here. Thanks for your help!!

Hi Nicole, Yay other Kiwis what do you need to source I am going to get the Gluccie and a few other things from Iherb.com the shipping isn't to costly and it works out much cheaper to get them from there than the websites that sell them in NZ. there are a few sources for coconut oil here you can try these websites www.coconutoilshop.co.nz/ or www.coconutoil.co.nz/index.htm countdown sells the Chia seeds and psyllium husks whey powder I got from here www.reactivsupplements.co.nz/Pure_NZ_Whey I haven't found a source for chocolate whey that doesn't have sugar in it was gutted to find out that even though Sawsons uses NZ Grass fed cows to make their whey we cant get it here I havent found golden flax meal here either

I think flax is called linseed in NZ and Australia. They may only have the brown kind but it willl work for the recipes.

Yay for other kiwis!! I've bought some stevia (mynaturalhealth.co.nz) and glucomannan (healthia.co.nz) - hoping they'll arrive tomorrow. The Stevia was $29 inc postage for 59ml liquid, Nunaturals brand. The glucomannan was $37 for 227g (free postage!). I've also got some whey powder from Payless Supplements. It's chocolate fudge flavour and does contain a small amount of artificial sweetner, but is only 2.5g carb per serve. I also bought some chana dahl from Trader Jacks at The Base ($4.49/kg). I'm in Hamilton - loving the plan so far - just finished day 3 so early days yet!!!

The whey powder I got was Dymatize Elite, from Payless Supplements. It was something like $96, but is a HUGE tub of it (5lb it says) and was free shipping, which I always like!! I started THM on Monday and weighed myself this morning - down 2.8kg! Can hardly believe it! I've been eating so much yummy food and finding it easy to figure what is S or E, and how to include protein. How are you finding other kiwis on here! The only ones I've 'met' are those of you who joined this thread. I've tried using search a couple of times, but for some reason it just freezes up and I have to exit the THM page. Have a wonderful day

Well done that great progress I have been doing the plan since Nov and was able to lose all my baby weight plus the few extra KGs I was before him so about 10kg in total although I just need to tone up now and have been putting it off the idea of the spew scares me :/ beside you lovely ladies I havent found anymore Kiwis I hope some more join us on here it would be great to get to know you all Thankyou for the product name I will have a look today some time I have been getting frustrated with sourcing whey powder as I was keen to get flavoured NZ made- I had found a couple of great sites that sell NZ whey no soy sweeten with stevia only to discover they are USA and Canada based who would think it would be so hard to find NZ whey in NZ lol

Glad to see this thread :-) Another kiwi here I ordered glucomannan from i-herb but will probably order my next batch from netrition, there is not too much difference in the per gram price. Biovea in NZ sells Now glucomannan but it's cheaper even with postage and exchange rate from i-herb. Stevia- I use Natvia in place of Truvia, its about $9- for 200g at Pak and Save but more expensive at health food shops. I ordered Astevia (organic white stevia extract) on trademe 100g for about $43 delivered, I'm currently using Radiance Stevia (50g about $38 delivered from healthpost). But after saying all that I think I'm going to order NuNaturals pure stevia extract from i-herb. I've worked out I use about 15g of pure stevia powder a week, and i-herb has a 450g packet which should last me about 6-7 months, which works out better in the long run. Astevia and Radiance are okay in most recipes but you need to use a Truvia type stevia with them in most recipes using cocoa. Ceres organics sells a 3kg bag of Golden Blonde Flaxseed/Linseed, so a health food store could order it for you. It's about $15-00 wholesale so shouldn't be too expensive retail. I grind it up in my coffee grinder, depending how many muffins and golden flat bread I make it lasts me about a month. Coconut oil, I recommend either Chantal or Ceres brand but Zenian is good too. The prob over here in NZ with Coconut oil is that sometimes it comes from places that open the coconuts over the fire, and can give it a slightly smoky flavour or a burning sensation in the back of the throat. for Konjac noodles there is a brand called Slim Pasta, I get mine from the One Stop Gluten Free Shop in Tauranga, they are about $6-$8 per packet, but there is a discount when buying in bulk. They do have a website to order on line. Coconut Concentrate, I brought Zenian brand (from the store above) for $16, but after seeing the product I think you could mix Ceres Brand Coconut flour (which doesn't say it's de-fatted) with coconut oil, I'm not sure of the proportions yet but I'll give it a try one day. Great to see some other Kiwi's here :-)

Ok, Greek Yoghurt... I bought the Yoplait Greek Style Lite, which I assumed would be good for a protein for an E or an S. I've just googled greek yoghurt 0%/2% and see that what I've been eating is significantly higher in both fat and carbs, and lower in protein than what I found in online nutritional analysis. Do any of you have ideas about which brand is good??

I have been using Easi Yo Low Fat greek I hadnt really shopped around to be honest as we always have the Sachets in he pantry as my husband loves it plain on his weet-bix and it is well priced when on special $3.50 for a sachet which makes alitre - it has 1.3g fat 0.9 of which is sat fat and 8.4g of Carbs I drain the extra whey off so I live in hope that cuts it down a bit but I am not sure what I should be looking for - the normal easi yo greek has 4.3 fat and 6.7 carbs it be good to know what others are using

Is the Easi Yo one nice? My husband eats A LOT of yoghurt / kefir, and he says he found the greek one 'stringy and slimy'! Doesn't sound that appealing! I figure the yoplait one is probably ok if you're not having a large amount (ie a cupful), but isn't actually anywhere near as high in protein as the american ones seem to be (thanks google!) so maybe not a good protein choice anyway?

Yes its very nice thick and quite creamy and as you make it your self you can buy quite a few sachets at once and make them as you need them which is great for the budget (I usually set it in the hot watercuppboard for 12 hours to make sures its lovely and thick)- its natural tart but my husband likes it that way I pefer to add sweenter to it or mix through some slim belly jelly to make a fruity mix sometimes I add Chia seeds to make a real treat it has 5.3 grams of protien per 100g so not sure if its good or not here is the website if you want to take a look www.easiyo.com/easiyo-product-details/low-fat-greek-unsweetened.html I personal love the Cyclops range but I think they are a bit high in carbs and are hard on the wallet but oh so yummy
