As you have read in my bio, I'm a missionary on deputation, which means I'm without full kitchens, multiple ingredients, and often in the car. Would you help me brainstorm ideas for plan-approved portable food that does not perish quickly? I do have most of the specialty items needed for this plan. I usually have access to a blender and a rice cooker that says it doubles as a slow cooked. I'd love a plan-approved granola bar recipe. The simpler the better. Thanks!

What about muffins? The easy Peasy muffins as well as the Light White ones are so yummy! They are both filling S recipes that could be made ahead, and there are so many different flavors you could do!

Good idea for when I am staying in someone's house if they don't mind me cooking in their kitchen! Thanks.

Nuts to snack on in the car, maybe wraps made with Joseph's lavish for lunches on the go, non-fat yogurt with a few berries on top put into small containers, cheese sticks, apples with a small amount of pb in a little container to dip your apple slice into. . .

I haven't found any Joseph's products on the road yet, keeping my eyes open for them. More great ideas! I think if I make it a goal to go to the store daily while traveling, I can eat those healthy perishable items. Some days are looong hours in the car, or days planned out for me, but I can get to the store more than I am. I'm going to make a list of all if these suggestions, thanks for taking your time to help me brainstorm!

I got Joseph's pitas at Walmart. You might have to ask, they were tricky for me to find- with their specialty sour dough type breads, but someone else said they found them at the deli counter.

I looked on Wal-Mart's website and the stores close to here don't carry Joseph's products, but you might check the website and see if any near you do. Most healthfood stores would carry the sprouted Ezekiel bread, I remember that being mentioned in the book.
A small cooler would be a huge help. Even if you can't freeze water to put in it, you can get a cup of ice at a gas station and use that to cool it. That way you could do hard boiled eggs, cheese, cooked meats, dips, and many other things.

Joseph's has a web site and you can enter zip codes to see if their products are sold near you. That's how I found them in my area.
