I haven't gotten my book yet, but its on the way. What specialty items do I need to order to get a good jump start. From what I am seeing, the Nustevia pure stevia powder, Swanson's whey protein, and Konjac Glucco powder. I don't have access to a lot of health food stores, so I didn't know if I should order anything else to make some of the staples that I will eat. Psyllium powder, maybe? Specialty flours?
What do I really need to get a good start?

The 3 things you mentioned are what I started with this week. I got all 3 from Amazon. Today I picked up some Truvia and sea salt. I still need all the flours so I was going to hit Whole Foods soon.

Unsweetened Almond milk (Silk brand makes a good one) is something I'm finding a staple in our home if you don't use it already.

The psyllium powder is a good idea since you can make the 'Egg white Wraps' once you have it. They are so versatile and great tasting. They can be used for S, E and Fuel Pull needs. Don't forget we are now suggesting using 1/8 cup psyllium instead of 3 Tbs to 1 cup egg whites.

I second the Psyllium powder since I absolutely love the Egg White Wraps! If money is not an issue, xanthan gum and peanut protein flour can come in really handy. Do you have a good blender and ice cube trays? Oh and Extra Virgin Coconut oil.

If you relate to Drive Thru Sue, the golden flax seed meal and almond flour are great for quick breakfasts (muffin in a mug), and are available at Walmart or some grocery stores.

If you missed my other post....Wilderness Family Naturals has a sale until the end of month. I buy my coconut oil from them. The sale is $20 off off a $75 order. I usually buy one gallon of unrefined coconut oil and a 5 gal bucket of the expeller pressed. We use the refined for almost all our baking needs. You can replace shortening with the expeller presses and use it to make popcorn. This is coconut oil for purist but with a sale like this it's even affordable for large families.

What form is best to buy these products in? Powder, or liquid? Sorry if I seem a bit ignorant, I've just never used anything like Glucomannan or Stevia before!!

Glucomannan is a powder. You'll want to find one that is not in capsules. That way you can scoop it or use it in a shaker bottle. Stevia can be powder or liquid. The powders tend to be better, in my opinion. My favorite is the Nustevia pure extract powder.

The powders tend to be better, in my opinion. My favorite is the Nustevia pure extract powder. There is quite a big price difference in the PURE white extract and the NuStevia Extract powder. The regular powder has an additive in it, but the price is tempting. I think I will stick with the PURE as it is recommended in the book, but anyone have an opinion on the regular? This is the regular.. www.swansonvitamins.com/nunaturals-nustevia-white-stevia-powder-12-oz-pwdrSo this is the run down as I have pieced it together.. look good? Netrition.com -Protein Plus Peanut Flour -Konjac Glucomannan Powder -NuStevia Pure White Extract Powder Swansonvitamins.com -Swanson's Premium Whey Protein Powder -Swanson's Premium Stevia drops And where is a good place to get the cocoa powder? Do they sell it at Kroger?

I think you get more for your money with the Pure. I have used the other but it takes a lot more to sweeten and then you run out soon and just have to get more. You barely have to use the Pure powder. Also, I have read that maltodextrin can feed candida, but I am not sure how true that statement is.
I went ahead and ordered chia seeds, and nutritional yeast from Swansons. Also if you buy the pure extract I would buy the shaker that is the 1 oz because its handy and you can refill it. And Extra virgin coconut oil is awesome to have. I am like Trader Joes cocoa powder right now! 2.50is I think. But all groceries sell cocoa powder.

Ok thats what I was thinking.. and I struggle with candida so I think I will stick with Pure as we are having a good time with it so far! I currently already use virgin coconut oil but have steered clear of the refined as I had read it wasn't as good for you, but for cooking with I think it would be more suitable for our needs than scooping the more expensive virgin out every time! We also do the nutritional yeast (bulk bin at Whole Foods). And got a one pounder bag of 365 chia seeds a while back and have been enjoying adding them to everything! lol I am blessed to actually live in the same area as Serene and Pearl so as I have been reading in the book I know exactly which stores they go to and that they will have the same things! So far, so good!

Just remember not to buy the cocoa powder from aldi's. they mentioned in the book how awful it was. I personally buy some of my stuff from Americherb and it is very cheap. They have dark organic cocoa powder for $4.50/lb and stevia white extract powder (90% extract, no fillers) for $23/ lb. I have never tried nunaturals so I can't compare but it should be jsut as sweet. They also have tons of herbs that use to make my own vitamin tintures. I also saw phyllium seed husk powder for $5.20/lb (not sure if that is what they recommend or not). They have a website but you have to set up an account in order to see it. I just asked for a catalog and I just call them to order. Their phone number is 1-800-267-6141. You probably need to leave a message, but they are good at calling back.
