So do you need to eating when drinking your coffee in the morning? I enjoy coffee with a splash of cream, but usually have it, and about 30-40 minutes later eat breakfast. Is that ok? Or because of the cream- I should be eating with it?

Hmm, a splash probably won't derail you, but it would be better with your breakfast especially if you want to switch fuels at lunch.

Or because of the cream- I should be eating with it? You don't have to eat with your coffee. If it works for you, that's fine. And it's perfectly fine having cream in it, as long as it's not clashing fuels. If you have an E breakfast, you don't want cream in your coffee just a little while earlier. Use an E approved 'creamer' instead.

A Tbsp of half-n-half is fine for E or FP. =)

I appreciate the numbers, because I mostly won't use them, but I'm having issues with foods that are not clearly listed on either list (S or E), so I don't know how to use them. At least with the numbers, I can look up nutritional values and get a basic ideas. And although I have access to a good health food store, my local WalMart does not carry ANY of the specialty items that are mentioned in the book as being available there (such as the pitas, lavosh, etc.) So, I'm wondering what raw foods seed crackers and such might work in a pinch while I experiment with recipes, and I'm hoping the numbers will help. Thank you!

If you look at ingredients in terms of basic S and E usually you can see where a food would fall. So raw seeds in a cracker would be S, but if they are mixed with grains (E) they would be a Crossover. Which tend to be where most crackers I have seen fall. Of course we would love to help you out if you need more clarification on a specific item

So 2 Wassa Crackers and 2 Laughing Cow Light Cheese wedges would be a Fuel Pull Snack? It's less than 15 gr net carbs and less than 5 gr net fat.
Did I get that right?

Honestly the numbers get people stuck many times or mamas quit feeling it is too complicated or it is bondage, I think that is why the book is about categories over numbers and the first comment in this post by Pearl is great In the book they allow 2 Wasa light rye in a FP, they are a bit outside the "numbers" but the authors decided they work, two light Laughing Cow wedges are good to add. You could also top each with a slice of lean lunch meat to get some protein in the snack. So for the light rye Wasa specifically one for S, two for FP or four for E.

I've taken to having more Salads. Even to watering down dressings. Love Cheeseburger Pie and everytime its a little different. Make lots of dippers from wraps with spinach or parsley & basil dips. At 61 I'm now the lightest I've been for at least 15 years. Loving the freedom to know as long as I have a protein I can mix my S, E, or FP meals. Thanks goldeneagle53

The point of E days is to refuel and restock. In real world terms, if you have not been used to eating low carb, 135 g of carbs is not really that much in a day. It is a bagel for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and a cup of pasta (which is less than most people eat) for dinner.

Remember 45 is a limit as well, if you stick to the portions in the E chapter you will stay in a great E mode and within the 45 limit. The fuel cycle is also intended for those who have been on plan for a few months and are wanting a challenge or who are stalled. It is not something you want to begin your THM journey with Admin Note~ The question above nebby's response was posted by a male who was let in to the group by mistake and has been removed. It was about clarification for E meals on the Fuel Cyle. That is what nebby and my response was about
