I am afraid to eat truvia? Is it really safe? Not a big fan of artificial sweeteners like aspartame. Can you shed some like and help understand that this is okay to eat. It just seems so artificial and processed. (Nursing Mama)

Hi Destiny, did you read our Foundations Food chapter where we go into stevia and Truvia in quite a bit of detail?
If you don't want to eat Truvia (which is not an aritficial sweetener) nustevia pure extract powder is fantastic and you won't have to worry about erythritol possibly being from GMO Corn.
Also, check out the FAQ board here to find out how to make your own Truvia. It is under the STevia question.

I did read all of it. It's just getting my brain wrapped around it, I guess. I am a whole grain Jane coming from honey and nectar that seems natural and real compared to "white powdery stuff". I am super worried about processed stuff and cancer related "artificial" sweeteners. Did they have truvia and xylitol in the biblical times? I truly don't know. Maybe they did. I ordered the NuNaturals NuStevia. It just seemed like I needed the Truvia if I wanted to enjoy the baked desserts. I am only on Chapter 9 so I am still wrapping my head around it. I will check the FAQ board. Thanks for indulging a newbie.

Alot of the recipes list Truvia as the primary sweetener but alot of us do it with just the NuNaturals. They work well. You'll have to taste and adjust with the extract as its really sweet and everybody has a different preference.
