I LOVE the book! It is the most enjoyable lifestyle diet I have ever tried, and believe me, I've tried everything! It feels so freeing to have the information Serene and Pearl have gathered right at my fingertips. I have tried the weight loss part for the last week, because I think my metabolism is shot and maybe I have built up a resistance to insulin , as I have diabetes in my family, and I wasn't experiencing any weight loss with free styling. I haven't weighed myself for the last day or so, but I know that I had lost three pounds up until I hit the E days! I'm a little afraid to weigh myself after adding the E days, but God is teaching me to let go of those weight loss idols in my life and focus on health and glorifying Him. I'm wondering... should diabetics handle the eating style any differently, since their pancreas is not producing insulin anymore? Should they cut out carb intake to a lower the quantity of carbs or not do E meals at all? I'm not diabetic yet, but my mom and grandmother are, and honestly I think I was going in that direction, so I was just wondering.

I am insulin resistant and have been doing the plan since Christmas. I need to lose 90 lbs and have lost 18 so far! It's very doable. I have PCOS too and know this weight is going to take some work to get off. I do way more S meals than E, but I do have E meals 3 or 4 times a week. I have some fuel pull meals too. The facebook group is going a fuel cycle week starting Friday March 8, but I would recommend you do several weeks of getting the plan down before you tackled a fuel cycle. Just enjoy some great S meals with some fuel pull snacks and a few E meals thrown in.

I am definitely insulin resistant. I have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes the last few pregnancies, one of which required insulin (rare even when diagnosed) and the other two only avoided by exercise, cinnamon supplementation, and careful eye on diet. Some of that insulin resistance is still present now when not pregnant with difficulty losing weight and with seesawing blood sugar.
On a typical day, I eat 1 E meal, 1 S meal, and half the time another S meal and half the time a Fuel Pull. Occasionally I'll have a day that's 2 S and 1 Fuel Pull. I never have more than 1 E meal a day. And I have very deliberately made that choice because of my insulin resistance issues. However, eating an E meal with less than 45 g carbs and next to no fat, my blood sugar is so nice and low compared to what it used to be when I ate normally!
When on a Gestational Diabetes diet, they had me eating 4 carb servings per meal (15 g each) plus 3 snacks with 1 carb serving each. So, that was a total of 225 g carbs a day! That's less than half what you'd eat with THM even if you had 2 E meals a day. Plus all of those carbs were usually combined with fat.
So personally, I would recommend mixing things up. I wouldn't recommend having any E only days, but I would recommend having at least 1 E meal a day for most days. My 2 cents. :-)

Thanks for the replies. I am getting a little frustrated, because I am really sticking to the plan and even doing the 3 S days, 2 Fuel pull days, and then the 2 E days, but really the weight hasn't budged in the last 2 weeks. I know this is a long term thing though, so I have added 20 minutes of walk jogging on the treadmill everyday. I hope this will get things moving! I am 5'6" and 172lbs. I would really love to be 135-145lbs, so I have a ways to go. I am going to try to do the one E meal/ day thing. Maybe that will help. Any other ideas anyone? Thanks.
