Hey there all you mamas . If you are reading this you may be dealing with food allergies or maybe know someone who is or just want to know why i wrote this .
Well after having our 5th child 2 yrs ago i was sick .. belly ache.. vomiting.. bad bowels sick. I at first lost weight from it in years before with a raw vegan diet that left me thinner then my usual after baby size but very flabby and old looking. I then researched a diet called the Gaps diet that is a grain free healing diet . I started that and failed the first year... still sick i got pregnant with 6th child and out of desperation started that healing diet. I was on it for 1 year, but still was not trim and
weight had stalled although healing my gut had been a sucess. Now i too had been waiting for the New THM book bc well I wanted to look good and feel good. I got my book in October and dove in to the diet Welll wait a second I have been allergic to nuts , uncultured dairy, an grains and had not touched them for a year. So the THM lifestyle was a chance to take to see if it worked for me . It was great for weeks and i saw loads of weight loss but little by little by ears and throat burned , hives broke out on my arms and legs from nuts and my belly ached from ricotta and whey containing dairy. So with all this dairy in the diet how did i manage to do this plan losing 17lbs and going from 174 lbs to 157lbs. I did what i could following the plan as i was able . Adding seeds where nuts were called for ... goats milk yogurt or homemade yogurt worked for me . Truvia also gave me the runs ... soo only NUnaturals pure white stevia extract for me. I eat alot of S meals and add in pudding for fuel pulls or just Earth milk or veggies with a side of lean meat for snack. I also eat my E meals in the form of sweet potatoes.. brown rice .. quinoa with loads of lean protein and non starchy veggies. These are easier on me . I use Almond milk and coconut milk as well. I still have 13 lbs left to get to me goal weight of 145 lbs , but i will not give up what i am doing .So THM can be a success if you are willing to change some things for you. It may not be just like the book , but it is the same style and i believe whole heartedly in the method God has given them . Thanks for reading this and please feel free to add to this.... by the way i did not mention a reaction to wheat or oats .. i just do not feel well after eating theses so i stick to the other E starches mentioned above.
