I've been using the storebought low-fat kefir the same way, for any fuel source, thinking it was a FP! And I thought I had this down pretty good! Lol.

I reread the chapter in cultured foods and it does say that kefir is either S or E. I didn't realize that I missed it. I just thought if I cultured it long enough the sugars would be eaten up. There was one comment in that chapter about whey needing a lot of culturing time in order to be broken down enough, that's why it's not friendly for weight loss. If I strain the kefir I'm sure it would be a FP. Thanks for getting us thinking and investigating.

This morning, April 26, 2014 I did my weight and measurements. The last time I recorded that is back in December, 2013. My weight today is 217 lbs. @ 33 1/2 weeks pregnant. My beginning weight was 182. That gives me a 35 lb gain so its not as much as I suspected. My scale shows less than the one at the midwife office. My inches were up everywhere, but still less that before I started my weight loss journey, phew! I was sure I would be back at the beginning, not so! I thinking that most of my gain jumping has been because of so much fluid intake. Maybe because my body has probably been fighting an infection in the urinary department I'm having a harder time releasing the extra fluids. With the tea mix I'm starting to drink it might help with that too since the warnings are often that there are so many diuretics in there. My sugars this morning were 5.0 so that's a good number. I think ideally it is supposed to be around 4.5. I'm not sure yet what my menu will all consist of today. Starting with the oats recipe from the book with blueberries and add protein powder. The weather is beautiful today! We plan on getting all of us out there for yard clean up. Even I was told I would be helping instead of being stuck in the kitchen or working on inside projects! I'm sure it will feel great getting all that fresh air and clean oxygen. My husband said that I would be out there, after our garbage dump run we would go to see how it's thawing at the lake and then they would all help me inside to get the cleaning and indoor things done, not a bad idea at all. Today is my sons birthday, 5 years old! He was my big 9 lb 15 oz baby. Going to try an on plan cake, yum! Enjoy your day everyone!

Susieq, how encouraging! It's always a relief to find you weigh less than you thought. Now, for improved and continued good health... Enjoy your day outdoors. A day outside can sure lift the spirits. Hope your day goes great and you find a good cake for your son!
