Have been using lots of coconut oil, but have been doing battle with lots of inflammation. Is it possible that coconut oil is not always the best thing for everyone and are there alternatives for those that can't have it? Right now I'm trying to not use it for awhile and see how I respond.

I don't know that coconut oil would cause inflammation directly. But too much coconut oil for someone who's not used to it can cause over-detoxification. It's a powerful purifier, and I suppose it is possible that if you went from almost no coconut oil to a large amount very quickly, your body could be releasing too many toxins at once, which could cause inflammation. This is just a theory. It may not be the issue. I'm not sure.

I'd like to second Emily, from all the reading I've done in the last 5 years, that sounds like a likely reason for inflammation. I really like this over the counter herbal blend for inflammation: Zyflamend. You should not just take my advice though, please read about it and read the ingredients first.

Ahhhhhhhh! Is that why I've been dragging a bit? I made Skinny Chocolate the other day. And ate a lot of it. The main ingredient is coconut oil. It tastes sooooooooo good. My osteoarthritis did flare up a bit... not horrible but enough to wonder what was going on. Oops. OK, lesson learned. Eat a REASONABLE amount... even if it's HEALTHY. Anybody else dealing with osteoarthritis in their 5th lumber? Hugs to all you mamas!

I've been having trouble with burning by my urine opening for days after intercourse. I've been using coconut oil for lubrication becasue I've been really dry. I"m 45, take progestrone bio identical cream, but I was wondering what could cause this burning sensation at the urine opening when the doctor says there is no infection. Is this a hormone issue. Any ideas.
I hope I posted on the right spot.
thanks Auntie
