made the satisfying granola the soaked dehydrated way, added some shredded coconut and unsweetened blueberries and yum! served it up with raw cream and a little (little!) water to make it go a little further. super satisfying. thanks for such great recipes to work with. it's no small feat that you guys put out this massive book (i know that you KNOW that) but THANK YOU! Can anyone recommend more specific ingredient amounts, please? Approximately how many cups of nuts, seeds, and coconut would I need for 1/2 cup flax and 1/2 cup coconut oil? 1 cup flax and 1 cup coconut oil? Thanks!

that's funny. i was thinking the same thing and then i laughed at myself because that's normally how i cook, i look at a recipe and then i change it to my liking. after following serene through all her (and my) eating trends i think i'm getting used to her recipe techniques (a handful of this, squeeze of that etc). i love it! but, here is what i did: to make one half gallon jar full: 1 quart soaked almonds, chopped 1.5cups sunflower seeds (not soaked) optional 1/2 cup brown sesame seeds 1 cup ground flax 1 cup coconut oil 1 cup shredded coconut (up to 1.5cups) couple handfuls dried blueberries (just ordered goji to try next time) 2 tsp vanilla 3 dashes sweet leaf (i didn't want it sweet, i'd rather have it less sweet and sweeten later, but i didn't need to because of the wonderful dried berries) spread on two cookie sheets and dehydrate overnight serve with cream cut with water i think i eat about 2/3 cup. it's so satisfying.

i'm still trying to figure out which ingredients to soak (seeds too?) and how long to soak then how do you dehydrate. maybe i need to watch a youtube vid on soaking or search the book again. then again, i do have nourishing traditions and i bet if i read it i would learn all about soaking.

Oh thank you for reminding me of this! I was shopping yesterday and saw my favorite granola and was pining away for it! I totally forgot there was a recipe for it in the book! Trying this soon!
