I don't have all the ingredients for the "right" way oatmeal. So if I used old fashioned oats, stevia, & unsweetened almond milk with a side of 1 hardboiled egg, is that ok? (The serving of oatmeal is 1/2 cup of uncooked). Is this still an E?

How much fat is in a hard boiled egg?
I'd be more inclined to get protein from 0% Greek yogurt. If you really want an egg, maybe just the white?

I think I remember reading that 1 egg yolk has 5 grams fat so you'd be better off leaving the yolk out and having the whites.
I really like mixing yogurt and berries (similar to the cottage berry whip idea in the book) and having that with my oatmeal. It's more appealing to me than egg whites but it is a nice option to have something savoury, like egg whites, on the side with sweetened oatmeal.

I'm wondering if Rolled Oats are okay to use, as they're not as quickly absorbed as Instant Oats, but they're not quite the 'Old-Fashioned' ones either. I'm quite a fan of porridge, so I'd like to keep using Rolled Oats if they're still good enough! BTW I'm from New Zealand, so Rolled Oats are the usual type available here.

Here the terminology is Old fashioned oats, large flake oats, rolled oats, or quick oats. My understanding is that its the quick oats you want to stay clear of. These cook in 1-3 mins. The rolled oats cook in 5-8 mins. What is the cooking time for yours? What is the serving size on the bag, as well as how many carbs per serving?

My rolled oats take 5 minutes to cook, using 1/2 a cup (45g) per serve. According to the packet that works out at 25g of carbs per serving. I'm also a nursing mum who's at goal weight, so I'm being a little more lenient on myself with regards to total carbs etc. My main take home message from THM is to try to separate the carbs from the fats when possible, and eat more protein instead of excessive carbs.

Since you're at goal weight you can enjoy crossovers as well to keep milk supply up and no weight loss either.
