I'm feeling a little confused right now. I ran across a couple of post on some blogs of why people disagree with the THM lifestyle. It mostly has to do with them feeling it was too strict or that the sweeteners weren't natural. I have to agree with the sweetener issue. I am constantly struggling with that. I don't like the idea of erythritol and xylitol. I am okay using stevia and that is my main sweetener of choice. But I'm confused about the need to avoid natural sweeteners like honey and sugar. Couldn't you just use them in moderation and still be on plan? I have read so many things about sugar alcohols being bad that it's really hard for me to use them.
Some advice would be most appreciated on this subject.

The authors of THM feel the recommended sweeteners are natural and not artificial. I know when researching these things on the internet there are many different opinions! Of course one doesn't have to use the sugar alcohols. They are great for baking. But one could choose to go more with simpler, unsweetened or stevia sweetened foods. Small amounts of honey or maple syrup are encouraged, for occasional use only, once we are at goal weight. I think the issue with honey or maple syrup is their effect on our blood sugar. Most will find that these will stall weight loss.
