Must we have xanthum gum on hand to make oopsie rolls, or can we use something else? I would like to start trying some of the recipes, but so many different ingredients are in them.

The xanthan gum helps the rolls achieve a bit of firmness, though they are still very soft. I'd encourage you to just take the plan slowly. It took me almost two months to slowly gather the special ingredients. I did it slowly as budget allowed. I don't think I had the whey protein for at least the first four weeks and it was fine. Pick one ingredient that seems the most important to you and get that as soon as you can. I'd pick stevia first, then glucomannan. Just have a restful heart and do what you can do. The Oopsie Rolls are great, so I hope you can try them soon! . I was just able to try them a for the first time a week or so ago as I hadn't had an oven since before I started the plan on October 31st. The Easy Peasy Flax Muffins are amazing and every time I make them, they get gobbled up in no time by all of us!

Thanks! I see a bargain corner has been created, but I wonder if it would be possible to somehow list on here by ingredient the best brands and prices. For some ingredients there are several sources, and of course if you are new to buying a product, especially an expensive one, you want to choose the right brand. I know there are some suggestions in the book, but not for every product. Would anyone else like to see something like this?

Is xanthum available in stores, or can you only find it online?

sorry for the misspell of xanthan. i'm not sure if it can be purchased in stores, but i would guess in health food stores or the specialty section of a regular grocery store, although probably for a high price. i've seen items like quinoa at our local grocery store for much, much more than the organic equivalent at costco, so i definitely don't trust our local store to offer the bargain price, as much as i like to support them when possible.
