I have heard this is a good oil to cook with due to low smoke point, or whatever that's called. Would it be approved? I like using it when I don't want the coconut flavor.

It does have a low smoke point but is not saturated so if frying a lot with it at high heats, you could still be consuming some trans. I think it would be fine to sautee food with now and then at medium heats.
