Hi! I have been a THM for two years now. I am only 10 lbs from my goal. I have been having some symptoms off and on that I believe are hormone related as well as adrenal related. I get tired, feel like I have the flu with chills, have some mild palpitations, flushed back of neck, face and chest, fatigue. All of this was happening about a week before my period started and my cycle was roughly 21 days. It has now evened out to 28 days which is great, but now I am having these symptoms a few days after my period has ended some times up to a week after. I don't have much of a drive and it seems I may be ovulating early as well (but not trying to get pregnant--just an observation). I already spoke to my gyn at my check up and they said they didn't want to put me on hormone replacement (which I didn't want anyway) since my cycle was regular and I don't appear to be in menopause yet (I'm 41). I wanted to have my hormones tested, but they insisted they felt my palpitations were due to heart rhythm issues and sent me to my cardiologist, who has been treating me for supraventricular tachycardia for 10 years now. Thanks to THM I am on no meds for the SVT. My blood pressure is good. After a 30 day heart monitor, 2 cardiologist visits, and $650 worth of medical bills, I was told it wasn't my heart. I already knew because I am very aware and in tune with my body. However, now I have proof. I cannot afford hormone testing at this point. Does anyone know if you can tell by symptoms which hormones may be out of balance? How does Phytoestrogen work? Will this simply balance all or is it for a specific deficiency? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!
