Can MCT oil be used for sauteing? Does it have a long shelf life like coconut oil, or does it turn rancid quickly like vegetable oil? Thanks!

You probably could use MCT oil for sautéing, but I don't think it is recommended. That's where regular coconut oil comes in. I'm stingy with where I use it since it's a specialty item for me. I love the liquid state it's in for smoothies and where I don't want to use hard fats like coconut oil and butter.

MCT shouldn't be cooked with. I only really put it in my drinks.

Oops. I hope I'm able to use up my new 64 ounce bottle before it goes bad, lol. I think I need to come up with some good homemade salad dressing recipes.

I put it in all my drinks, hot and cold. Do you have the cookbook? Tons of great recipes.

MCT oil doesn't seem to go bad. I've had it around opened for over a year in a cabinet and its fine. You do want to keep it out of the light though. That will degrade it. I have mine in a dark brown bottle and keep it in a closed cabinet.
Don't sautee with it. The oil breaks down at a very low heat.

Yes, I do have the cookbook and have made number of the beverages. The FS Strappas were a lifesaver for me when I got the munchies. But to be honest I get tired of cleaning my blender all the time and was hoping for ways to use the oil without daily blending. I've tried just stirring it into my morning coffee, but as an oil of course it just wants to sit on top.
I am glad to hear that it keeps long in a cool, dark place.

An immersion or stick blender is fast and easy for smaller drinks. It works great for your coffee.

I understand! Sometimes I wish I had a few different canisters so I wouldn't have to wash in between dishwasher loads, lol.

True that!
I've been thinking about an immersion blender, wondering if that would simplify things. I'll have to do some shopping around. Thanks!

I found a cuisinart smart stick at a thrift store. It's powerful and I like that heavy duty steel stick. I would like the attachments that come with the new ones.

You can use MCT oil in salad dressings, or in homemade mayo. I mix the allowed amount into my peanut junkie butter.
