Hi! I am brand new here and will be ordering my book next payday. I was wondering if tortilla chips were allowed? We eat lots of salsa and hummus as staple snacks around here!!! Thankyou! Sarah Joy

Gotta admit, tortilla chips are one of the the foods I am missing the most! I am surprised, I thought it would be all the sugar laden desserts. Nope, it's the tortilla chips and salty snacks!

I have found cucumber rounds to be a great sub for pita chips for dipping in hummus. I haven't tried them with salsa, but I bet they'd work there too. I think that pepper chunks and thin-sliced carrots would also work.

I was just eating some cucumber slices as I read this post & was thinking that I loved the crunch! Letting go of tortilla chips is hard. I'm going to try to make my own from the Joseph pitas or low carb tortillas.

If you just can't live without your chips you could have some baked blue corn chips in an E meal.

Yeah, tortilla chips and popcorn............those are the hardest for sure. I'm getting used to not having them though - and I like seeing the scale go down, down, down so it's worth it! I like slices of zucchini better than cucumber because the cuke upsets my tummy a little. You might want to try them. I've also heard that you can make zucchini chips. Oh, and I've had kale chips and they were quite good.......to me.......my kids didn't like them at all!

Kale Chips ROCK ! I spritz them with a little bit of braggs liquid aminos before baking them. I have also put a small amount of sesame oil in a baggie and shaken the kale to coat. Then you can sprinkle with black pepper or a hot pepper if you like spicy! A little olive oil and a shake of pizza spice is yummy too ! I <3 Kale chips! LOL
