I was given 2 big cans of flavored whey Dr. Mercola brand. I'm wondering how many calories is normal for 2 scoops of whey protein. The ones I was given have 160 calories in 2 scoops. Sound about right? I don't want to sabotage my fuel pull smoothies

For FP purposes, I would only use one scoop. The whey I use (Swanson) has only 90 calories and for FP, I often use just 3/4 scoop of that or even 1/2 scoop if the smoothie is tacked on to the end of another meal. Once you add other ingredients, that 160 calories will climb and you might be pushed slightly over FP friendly cals of which we have no strict set number but keep it low to change up from S and E's.

nice gift! fyi: if you like the dr mercola brand because of it being 100% grass fed etc, he gets his whey from www.wellwisdom.com/ and azure sells it for less than mercola offers. not all the yummy flavors, though just plain, vanilla an chocolate

Serene is about to do a post soon about all the different types of whey and why buying more expensive Grass fed whey is not necessary. This is from Serene the purist! But she has done a bunch of research lately on the topic. She is still convinced the Swanson is one of the best choices, taking Mercola's into consideration even. It think you will all find it interesting and I'll be sure to copy it to this forum if some of you don't have facebook.

that's great.
it seems that what i'm finding out is that solely grass fed proteins come from the same main source as there is only one 100% grass fed producer that i can find. mercola and well wisdom are from the same source and it seems that swanson vitamins get theres from the same source as well and just have their own labels, additives and/or flavorings. the swanson has the Aminogen plant enzyme, is grassfed and is the best price on the market from what i can tell. i knew i was getting a better deal with vital whey but now i'll save even more. thanks for sharing swansons with your th mamas!
looking forward to serene's article. love learning!
