I have bought the book and know I am a drive thru Sue. Still need to finish reading to figure out the plan. But wondered if there were any Drive Thru Sue's that started out on this program that could give any advice/encouragement to how to start THM. I work from home as a medical transcriptionist and am constantly feeling like I am in a "fog" trying to stay awake all day. I know that I need to do something and believe this may be my answer. Just need some encouragement about the best way to get started.

My suggestion is to not get ahead of yourself. The beginning of the book creates a lot of excitement about starting the plan. But, give yourself some time. If you are a true Drive Thru Sue, you've probably got some pretty significant changes to implement. Read the book. Take some notes. Make notes of ingredients not currently in your cupboards that you'll need to be successful. Otherwise, you'll not be able to follow the plan. When you're first getting started, that's not the time to allow for "a little of this, and a little of that"....you know? Reverting back to old habits. Get your mind wrapped around the information, prepare for the plan and then JUST GO FOR IT! Prayer was important for me. I needed the Lord to show me areas of my life where I was lacking self-control. If you're used to hitting drive-thru's too often for your meals, you may lack in the area of planning/managing your day. I don't say this to be critical. I struggle, too. But, remember...we "can do all things through Christ who gives [us] strength." You won't magically muster up a bunch of will power, and it's not even what you need. What we need is self-control. That comes from God!!! Hope this helps!

Texaxmomma - I just wanted to say I love your little comment at the end of you previous post about being an excellent wife, blessed mother and loving friend, thank you for that!
Mommac - Hopefully you were able to read through the book by now and are able to start implementing it! Do give yourself grace as you're learning this new process! I definitely have drive thru Sue tendencies sometimes!! If you can plan ahead for when you don't plan ahead that will help (if that makes any sense haha). What I mean is, when you DO have time, make up a double batch of choco-pudding or another fuel pull snack that you can just go-to if you find yourself needing something at that moment. Low-fat string cheese & nuts are helpful to always keep around too so you don't have to MAKE anything) Try the new drinks they have come up with on the facebook page (Good Girl Moonshine, The Shrinker, Singing Canary - you can pre-make them the night before if you need) to see if you like them or can tweak them to your liking and sip on those throughout the day because they are yummy and keep you from being dehydrated! Make sure to eat something every 3-4 hours like they recommend (or even 2 1/2 - 3 hrs if that's what your body needs!) to keep your metabolism going even something little even if you don't feel really hungry.
Good luck!!
