I am a nursing mom of a 6 month old. I feel that I'll be nursing a little while longer, though I'd like to have him weaned by a year if we make it that long! I have been taking prenatal vitamins and just finished my supply, so I thought I'd ask what "budget" vitamins are suggested for a nursing mom? I've heard such great things about energy with the "Super Two" that I'd like to try them, but they are a little expensive for us right now. Any suggestions on what to try? I also need to get some fish oil suggestions. I'd love to buy locally, but may have to order for a better deal. thanks for any help.

I use Vitamin Code for women. They are raw, whole food vitamins. If you get them in a large container at Amazon, they are cost-effective. I also only take 2 instead of the recommended 4 capsules per day, since I eat very healthy anyway. www.amazon.com/Garden-Life-Vitamin-Womens-Multi/dp/B00280M13Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1376324031&sr=8-2&keywords=vitamin+codeThey also have a Vitamin Code Raw Prenatal that might be better for you. I've also used SuperMom vitamins from Beeyoutiful.com in the past. Beeyoutiful.com also has wonderful Cod Liver Oil that we all take....my littlest boys (ages almost 3 and 6) actually chew them up (they are soft gel). So that gives you an idea that the taste isn't bad, and no "fish burps". If you order the beeyoutiful products through their affiliate, Values Driven Family, you will get a 10 to 15% percent discount. Shipping is a flat rate of $6.

Sorry, Jasmine. I have no idea about the selenium. Is it supposed to be bad while nursing? I took the Vitamin Code with my youngest, who is now 3, during nursing. He was weaned at 2 1/2. I hope someone else answers
