“Ok after one year on the Trim Healthy Mama plan and 50lbs lost, I did my first obstacle/mud run at 66 years old.
I had been praying because I had put on so much weight over the years and could not lose it. My Dr. was challenging me but I kept losing the same 5 lbs over and over. I was at a Bible study and my young friend had heard about the book Trim Healthy Mama from a homeschool web site. She shared a little bit with me. I ordered the book from Amazon on the spot.
The book came on May 30, 2013. I started reading and doing it right away. I initially lost weight fast which was a real encouragement. I was introduced to lots of new foods and ways of cooking. By the fall I was doing some exercise videos to firm up my saggy flesh. I really don't like exercise. My friend builds obstacles for mud runs and wanted to host his own, one that would glorify Christ. He challenged me to do the event. I said yes and did a video, it is on the Extreme Faith Challenge facebook page and web site.
It is very hard to get in shape at my age but some friends ran with me and helped me along the way. I did the run June 14, 2014 weighing 50lbs less. I couldn't have lost the weight without Trim Healthy Mama. Many of my friends are now eating this way too. We love eating THM and they are benefiting as well.
There is no debate on how it changes your life. I am living proof. I even lost weight on vacation. My weight loss at this time is slower, a lb every other week but I am still losing. I bring cheeseburger casseroles to our church potluck because the kids all love it
This has been a very positive journey for me. My blood pressure and triglycerides are great. I have 11 more lbs. to lose to get to my goal weight 136lbs set by my Dr.”
