I've been mentally in on THM for a while now and think I'm ready to go practical. This morning I had oatmeal made with water and a little cinnamon and ginger. I sweetened it with some homemade apple butter (no added sugar or sweetener in that), probably a generous teaspoon. But I felt it was going to be short on protein so I had some protein powder and used that. Must have done the trick cause I was not hungry till lunch. I'm eating a salad my hubby and I make once a week in the non- winter months. I want it to be an E but I fear that it is not. Worst case scenario it's a healthy S and my breakfast was an E so there's balance. I'm not sure if I'll make it to dinner on this. Can somebody with experience analyze this meal choice for me? If Renee's dressing is fat-free and you only had a scant ounce of feta, you could have and E, if there were at least a half cup of chickpeas. ( that would be around 20 carbs) There is no other E fuel source. So if you only had 1/4 C.chick peas, you'd have an FP.
If the dressing has fat without carbs, and if you used more than 1 ounce feta and had only a 1/4 C. chick peas, that would be an S.
Otherwise, healthy crossover.

Thank you for replying. The dressing is not fat free: it has 6g of fat and 1g of carbs per tablespoon. We make a large bowl all at once : maybe 10 cups at a time to have a couple lunches for us and our teen daughter; someone gets it 2 days cuz there's lots. The dressing goes on at night and marinates, so it's hard to know how much I'm getting. In the whole batch there is 256g of feta (7g fat; 2g carbs per 30g) and 1 can (540mL) of chick peas. So from what you have told me I'm in S or, more likely, crossover - which would be ok. I think I can live with that lunch once a week and work on some other lunches that I make just for me that fall squarely into E and S. Thanks again, I really appreciate your knowledge.
